"Beds were very firm, with Japanese style pillows. Very good breakfast buffet at additional cost. Friendly staff, room was a little worn down. I would not consider this to be a 4-star hotel - 3 at best. "

"Excellent hotel in an excellent centralized location near everything! The staff were extremely helpful, especially when it came time to ship our luggage. They handled everything for us. We didn’t eat the buffet at hotel but there are plenty of restaurants just a few steps away which were excellent. Highly recommend!"

"The breakfast menu was fairly average, all pre-made and not that appetising (in my option). The staff were friendly and helpful enough, but the time to check in was very slow. One of the servers in the bar took our order then preceded to take other orders, and left us for a good 5 minutes sitting at the bar with nothing....so we left. Laundry facilities were good and inexpensive. The room were very very small and we were not able to unback our bags nor even place them where there they weren't in the way. Big negative. The position of the hotel was very good; close to Gion and good restaurants and other shopping. Probably the best aspect of our stay. "

"Easy to locate and amazing area. Everything was walkable. The staff was lovely and even let us store our bags. The best part was the cleaning crew tucked my stuffed animal into bed when they cleaned each day, it was so cute! "

"A superb property that punches well above its price point. The hotel has a beautiful and high quality interior and exterior design. The rooms in particular are fantastic, combining highly aesthetic Japanese design influences with comfort and usability. The general quality of the materials used through is high. The staff are another highlight, clearly well trained, helpful and friendly. A delight to deal with. We very much enjoyed the breakfast offering each day, as well as the access to the executive lounge. The availability of parking on site was also very helpful during our stay. Two small suggestions for improvements would be: 1. An alternative solution for the temporary storage of guest luggage awaiting onward transfer. This is held in the lobby and diminished the stylish space somewhat. 2. The main breakfast area is very busy at peak times. Perhaps the layout of food items could be updated to reduce bottlenecks. For example, the coffee, juice and bakery stations, which tend to be the most heavily used, are all located next to one another. We were fortunate to have access to breakfast at the executive lounge. This was a much quieter and relaxing experience. The quality of the executive / suite level amenities is high and well worth considering. Overall a 10/10 property though. This was our second stay and we will definitely return. "

"Room was fab, spotless and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast very limited and only ate there once. Bar area was lovely and peaceful and bartenders excellent."
