"Nice new hotel (it looked very new anyway), room was very clean and the bed was extremely comfortable (best sleep l've had in a long time). The buffet breakfast was an added bonus - eggs, noddles, rice, breads and salads. Staff l intereacted with with very friendly and helpful. A five minute walk from Nagano station."

"My husband and I stayed 1 night at this hotel. The check-in was simple and the staff was friendly and helpful. We speak very little Japanese and there was no problem. We were offered the opportunity to change our room, but declined and stayed in the standard double room. This room is very small but was okay for us for one night. It would be challenging for those with more/larger luggage than the two small carry-on sized pieces we had. Those with full sized luggage should get a larger room (over 18 meters squared). The room was a bit dated but clean. It was reasonable given the price. The hotel offered a good amount of amenities for those needing toothbrushes, razors, tea etc. We just needed coffee which they had. We didn't have breakfast. We didn't need parking. It is close by the train station for easy access to transportation and there was a convenience store within 100ft/50meters. The hotel allowed us to leave our bags with them while we explored after check out. Overall a great, basic accommodation at a reasonable price. "

"The hotel was pretty good, but not the best I've stayed at in Japan. The breakfast was pretty good, but not as amazing as everyone made it sound in the reviews. There was free sake tasting everyday at 5pm. It was 10 minute walk from the train station (not as close as Expedia made it sound, but not a bad walk either). I would stay here again, but just will go in with different expectations than what I had based on the reviews. Overall the staff was very nice and accommodating."

"It is close to the Nagano station and 7-Eleven. It also has a nice shared hot bath pool and coin laundry to wash and drying shoes clothes."

"Great location right next to the train station and easy to access train, and local tram and buses. 30 mins walking dustance to the Zenkoji temple or a quick bus ride. The hotel is a big one and the staff was very helpful to our requests. There are lots of restaurants and shops around the hotel."

"The JAL hotel is wonderfully located in Nagano city, only a few blocks walk to the train station. A full and large Breakfast is available everyday on the top floor for amazing views of the surrounding mountains. Rooms are quite spacious. There are many restaurants in the nearby area to choose from every night. Nagano is a wonderful city to visit in Japan as it’s much less crowded than places like Tokyo or Osaka. The direct bus to the snow monkeys from the station was a tremendous experience, as you get to see the snow monkeys in their own environment."

"First, the pictures on expedia or even the hotels website did not do this place justice. This is a gorgeous hotel with lots to do and see. We were checked in by "Lucky" who spoke really great english. He spent about an hour with us checking us in, walking us to our rooms, showing us everything in our rooms and helping with luggage. Both the dinner and breakfast were buffet with lots of options. I think we were the only foreigners there but they did not treat us any different. The shuttle down to the town square is very convenient. We did not use the hot springs but we did use the open air bath in our room which was amazing. The beds were reasonable comfortable. Enjoyed the plethora of amenities and open space in the room. "
