Grand Hotel Tien Shan

"Overall, I was very happy with my stay at the Grand Hotel Tien Shan. The staff were generally very friendly and helpful, from the front desk to the spa specialists. The hotel was probably a lot grander in its heyday, and now looks a bit run-down when you look closely, but the feeling is still impressive. My room was spacious and comfortable, but could use a few updates such as a more modern showerhead, with options for mounting it at various heights, and blackout curtains for better sleep. The breakfast buffet was ample and tasty. Gym, pool, and spa area were also excellent, and I only wish I'd taken more time out of my busy sightseeing schedule to enjoy them. The location is also excellent. I would recommend this hotel, though I would encourage a gradual update of the room fixtures and furniture to make it truly excellent."

"Centrally located and all-around terrific, the Almaty Hotel was a great place to stay. The lobby is a bit underwhelming, but the room was very nice—clean, spacious, and comfy—and the breakfast bar (which even has a whole outdoor seating area) was absolutely stellar. Very nice hotel for a first-time-to-Almaty stay."

"Great location to explore Botanic Garden on foot and city easily assessible with Yangex Go (UBER). The roof top terrace is a beautiful location to enjoy a cocktail or traditional pot of tea with stunning views! The meals and breakfast all good. Staff really helpful and friendly. Throughly enjoyed my stay. When I return to Almaty, I will stay again 😊"

Throughout my two-week stay, I was deeply impressed by the high standard of service provided by the reception staff. Every team member was courteous, professional, and attentive to every detail. My room was consistently spotlessly clean, quiet, and very comfortable. "Great generously sized room, helpful reception staff and super speedy and good laundry team. Breakfast was nice. Steam room, sauna and pool were nice. Central location in Almaty. Hotel was a very dependable and helpful place to stay Note that entrance has some steps."
