"Staff were amazing, extremely helpful and friendly. Rooms spacious and comfortable. Food was good, Great breakfast and good choice in restaurant if you are eating there in the evening.
Only slight problem was poor phone signal and hotel WiFi only worked in the car park."

"After a long journey we were so pleased to stay at this B&B, we received a warm welcome, the building is beautiful with lovely views and our room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable.
Breakfast was continental only but very well thought out and the communal areas are a special bonus. Would stay here again without a doubt. Thank you."

"The bed and breakfast experience lived up to its billing with prompt and excellent service from Michelle whenever requested. Breakfasts were excellent with a wide range of choices and the rooms were kept tidy with the suite providing the opportunity to relax in private. "

"We really enjoyed our stay at the farmhouse: quiet bucolic location, handsome and spotless, well-maintained house, We stayed in the Tweed room which was spacious and had everything we needed (including an excellent high pressure shower!). Peter and Sheila were great hosts and cooked breakfast to order each day and made sure we had everything we needed. Would happily return!"

"We really enjoyed our stay. The room was spacious and comfortable and had everything we needed. The kitchenette was really useful and there is a supermarket a few minutes walk away if you don’t want to go out for a meal. Access via code was really easy and there was plenty of parking close by. My messages were answered quickly and I was provided with all the information I needed in advance of our arrival. We will definitely be back next till we are in the area "

"Such a shame- could have been 5 star!! Internally the room was great, very comfortable and modern BUT from outside looked dreadful- dirty windows, dead window boxes and number missing from the door. Was very inconvenient, having to go out and buy tea & coffee ( I had asked before we travelled and was assured it was provided.) I draw the line at having to buy loo roll !! Attention to detail needed!"

"We loved our stay in one of the lakeside cabins, the view was great and the room was very clean. Breakfast was perfect, coffees were great and the staff were very pleasant attentive to us throughout our stay. The evening menu looked lovely so I’d love to come back to the hotel to try the food on a night. We had some cocktails in the bar area once we returned from our meal and they had a perfect variety of classics and signatures so we loved testing a few of these. The girl on the bar was very helpful and friendly, gave great recommendations.
Our only negative was the hot water - in the cabins we filled the bath for 20 mins as it says, then when we topped it up there seemed to be no more hot water left after running it for longer which was unfortunate but of course this didn’t ruin our stay as we still thoroughly enjoyed."
"Basic room but spotlessly clean with a
lovely view. Just what we needed in a perfect stopover location.
Good wifi. Great breakfast, especially given the price we paid for the room."
"We booked a 2-bedroom cottage due to the fact there were no twin rooms available in the main hotel. Our booking included breakfast and we assumed this would be in the main hotel; however this was not the case and instead it was based around a credit or voucher to be used in the on-site market shop where the choice was limited. Not clear at all on the Expedia site. The hotel staff were helpful and did allow us to take breakfast in the main hotel without an additional charge in view of the obvious misunderstanding. Please be aware of this fact if you are booking the cottages as breakfast in the hotel was £32.50 per person! Also, again we assumed that as the cottages were part of the Roxburghe estate we would be able to use the spa facilities (one of the main reasons we booked there in the first place). Alas, yet another misunderstanding as free access is not included for guests staying in the cottages and the cost for a 4 hour visit was £65 per person which is steep given what is on offer (a pool, 2 saunas, a whirlpool and relaxation area). Once again the hotel responded well by offering us 1 complimentary visit but beyond this we would have to pay.
Overall the hotel was excellent and the service good. However, staying in the cottages does not entitle guests to much if any of the facilities of the hotel (unless you pay) and the lack of twin rooms in the hotel itself is puzzling given the size of the hotel."
"Excellent hotel right beside the Castle - staff cannot be more helpful and cheerful! Rooms are great and bar and restaurant are excellent - very good food choices. Parking on site too. Fab hotel!"
