"Superb breakfast and very comfortable room"

"Really nice location with views of North Tyne. A good base to walk from or explore further afield. All staff were very helpful and we enjoyed the delicious breakfast."

"Quirky place to stay! Lovely big room for our family of four, in peaceful surroundings next to a ruined castle and 10 minutes from Hadrians Wall! Friendly staff and nice home cooked food for dinner and breakfast!"

"Lovely stay, staff were great, lovely grounds and taproom. Restaurant was really nice too. Room was comfortable and clean."

"Good rooms good food good price"

"We had a lovely stay at the Old Schoolhouse. Our room and bathroom were spacious. Our hosts had homemade treats for us each day (an oatmeal raisin cookie our first day and a piece of spice cake the next). Our breakfast was at a large table with the other guests. We loved talking to them, several of whom were walking the length of Hadrian's wall. The breakfast itself was delicious and generous. We would absolutely stay here again."

"We were staying for a nearby ultra marathon in Jedburgh. The house is incredibly spacious and cosy, just what we needed after running 40 miles in the wind and rain. We all had a fantastic stay. It’s in a very peaceful area and the hosts are lovely. We will definitely be back next year."

"Great surroundings, and generally very good accommodation."

"Fabulous hotel very friendly clean rooms bar very reasonable and the food was brilliant Can’t fault anything about this hotel"

"Such a neat location! Wish we could have stayed longer. It was a rushed overnight in transit between sights. The host was so kind. Appreciated the clean room and the breakfast options."

"Stayed during owners transition, that's why the kitchen served only breakfast and it was amazing! The same helpful staff. Short business stay, I visit a lot of hotels and I do appreciate smaller ones. Room had a nice design, comfortable bed and modern bathroom, all very clean and well kept."
