"Perfect location for the town centre and Abbey. Busy outside bar and indoor restaurant, obviously a favourite place with locals Good selection at breakfast, hot breakfast cooked on demand, which was excellent on Saturday and Sunday, less impressive on Monday. The bedroom was unbearably hot, the fan was unable to cope, but the hotel could not have mitigated this any more, as the room was in full sun all afternoon. "

"Delightful stay with incredibly friendly & willing staff,nothing was too much trouble. A mixture of old and new & my room(in the garden block) was spacious,modern & a lovely view from the patio over the cricket pitch & down to the Tyne. Food was very good,I ate in the bar but you can go more formal if you want. Hotel is in an enviable position,just outside Bellingham so access to roads easy. Even an indoor pool. If you like comfort,without formality,I would highly recommend."

"A beautiful, rural retreat. Wonderful facilities, extremely clean and homely. Comfortable bed with lots of in room extras, like home made shortbread, fresh milk with a mini fridge to store it in, lovely toiletries and a modern bathroom. Breakfast was freshly cooked using local produce, hence the brilliant taste. Excellent hosts who were so helpful, kind and genuinely interested and keen to assist and make our stay as nice as possible. Highly recommended. "
