"Beautiful property and well appointed. The guest house has everything you need. You will love it. We chose to spend more time on the back yard lanai as it was so peaceful and nice."

"Unfortunately, this property didn’t live up to our expectations from the description provided by the host. There is only an air conditioner in the dining room, none in the bedrooms (fans were provided). When opening windows to cool bedrooms to sleep, the noise from the rooster breeding across the street and the major road behind the home were excessive. The kitchen was virtually unusable. There were 3 drinking glasses, one small bowl and one small omelet pan (for a home that sleeps 9). Most of the appliances and the oven (except for the coffeemaker)were filthy. It would have been nice to have a box of tissues. ÌThe water is not drinkable. A filter pitcher was provided but based on the condition of other items, we didn’t feel comfortable using it and bought water.This would have been a great accommodation for our party of 4 if it weren’t for these items."

"Overall, a great stay. Unit was very clean. Kitchen was well stocked. House was comfortable. Covered parking and ample beach items available to use. Owner communicated well and answered all questions. Checking in after dark is difficult do to little lighting. The driveway had solar lights but did not work. Walking into the home was musty, moldy kinda smell. We opened all the windows for ventilation and hopefully air it out. The master bedroom has sheer curtains over the windows so it didn't feel comfortable to undress in the room. And was bright once the sun came up. Only standing fans to circulate air. 3 total (in each room) only 2 worked. Highly recommend ceiling fans to cool off the house. In the bathroom there were no washcloths. We were only staying a couple of nights so these things were trivial. The shared laundry room was a plus except when we tried to do laundry the guests in the smaller unit claimed dibs and used it all night! Lol. Also, the guests were smoking in their unit so the smell was terrible in the laundry room and seeped into the kitchen/living space in our unit. Not pleasant. That is not the fault of the owner. We were happy with our stay. Quiet except for the frogs, which was kind of nice. Easy drive to VNP and very convenient to other areas near the park."

"This place is gold. We stayed here before with my Grandma and this time I brought my very high maintenance parents. Both said they would stay again in a heartbeat! Such a generous host with all the amenities you can think of in the kitchen as well. 10/10The crow’s nest is so cool for the kiddos and all around the house is just a wonderful set up."

"It was spacious and clean. The location was perfect for the places we wanted to visit. The counter space in the kitchen was pretty small, but we didn’t do much cooking anyway."

"Overall beautiful property. However there was no available closet space and the rooms were rather small with our luggage in the way. We do notice juvenile cockroaches within the bathroom and kitchen spaces."

"We had such a great stay just outside of Hilo on the Big Hawai‘i Island. There’s so much to see & do in the area, even in a short amount of time, so the location was perfect. It felt tucked away & peaceful, but still super convenient to swing into town for groceries or other conveniences.The house itself was exactly what we needed. Cute, clean, & private, which made it easy to relax after a long day of exploring. Our host was incredibly friendly & responsive when needed, which we really appreciated.We did end up having to cut our trip a day short, but he handled it so quickly & kindly with a refund, which says a lot. We would absolutely stay here again & will definitely keep this place in mind for our next trip to Hilo!"

"Even though the house was charming, it was not adequately described on the website. From the pictures I would not have known the second bedroom was an upstairs loft that you had to climb a ladder to access. Luckily we are all fairly mobile and can climb a ladder!Also, is having a frig an amenity? It wasn’t listed as an amenity, but I thought that would be standard with your location. And if it wasn’t, at least let your visitors know there is no refrigerator! There was an ice cooler, but no mention to bring ice! We had perishables that we had bought before arriving, and then had to go back out to get ice so they wouldn’t spoil! Then there was no key provided for the home so when we left for the day we either had to bring all our valuables with us, or be worried if they would still be there when we returned! The house was pretty remote and private, quite a ways into the country, so we chanced it and left most of our stuff there.Getting more toilet paper from the host was challenging. We did run out even after letting the host know we were low. They brought 1 roll eventually. 1 towel for each of us was provided and I asked about if we could get clean towels after 2 days of use, but apparently that wasn’t part of the deal. We did hang our towels after using them, but they never dried completely so after 4 days of use we were ‘drying’ ourselves with wet, sour towels. I smelled worse after my shower than if I hadn’t taken one. "

"It was a very quaint place to stay. Super quiet, besides for the local wildlife (kokee frog chirp, birds ect). Which was lovely. The hostess was very nice. There was a miscommunication between her and her partner about the reservation. I would recommend that they update the description to get to the house. Google Maps tried to route me through the neighbor’s property. It was 4 driveways before the VRBO. I’d stay there again. "
