We especially appreciated details like beach towels, lawn chairs, snorkel equipment, etc.Laundry facilities were exceptional!The snacks at welcome were thoughtful.Dampness in the home was a bit challenging; given the climate here, bath mats and towels stayed damp, and there was a bit of a musty smell in the home.The host was attentive and responsive, and All in all, this was a good home base for a family wishing to explore the east side of the island. "

"Great location for exploring Hilo, Volcanoes and Pahoa area. We stayed a week and enjoyed staying here. We’d stay here again. Only complaint is the lack of hot water for showers as the water was just lukewarm. "

"Overall, my stay was adequate. The rental appears to be a hotel room with a minor conversion of a closet into a "kitchenette" area with a mini fridge and some utensils/bowls/plates. There is a microwave and toaster as well as a small coffee maker. I was expecting an actual kitchen to cook in but rereading the amenities, I'm not actually seeing Oven listed. I think the name of the rental "studio apartment" led me to believe it was a full apartment. The room needs an upgrade as the carpet seems well used and the room itself smells like cigerette smoke. I think if I had awareness that I'd be washing my dishes in the bathroom sink, I'd have different expectations of what I was renting and would have chosen differently. "

"Beautiful and spotless accommodations. Very friendly and helpful hosts that were responsive when we had questions but also gave us our privacy. The grounds are gorgeous and the house is located well, in between Hilo and Volcanos Park. Nice hot shower too!! "

"The property is beautiful, lush rainforest surrounded by tropical plants in a private setting just as described. Very clean and perfect for relaxation. Close enough to town but remote enough to enjoy the rain and frogs. The beds and shower are the best! We had a great time and would highly recommend this cabin. It was also nice to be able to do laundry onsite as we packed lightly."

"This place is highly overpriced. We opened the hot tub and coquie frogs were inside. Dirty and unable to use. The house was in desperate need of remodel. The refrigerator had no ice or way to make ice. There are no tvs i. The house. The floors were so dirty one wanted to wear shoes. This was a last minute booking when the ideal property canceled on us due to rain and storm damage. We would not have booked this if not desperate. The owner offered a free extra night if we wanted to stay but no credit back. What a big disappointment. We had no choice but to stay the 5 nights. "
