Kilmersdon is said to be the "home" of the Jack and Jill nursery rhyme, the fabled hill being recently restored as part of a local Millennium scheme. The old thatched cottage (Jack and Jill’s cottage) stands at the side of the road and the figures of Jack and Jill with their pail of water can be seen atop the roof of the cottage.
