The Sauna was amazing! Comfy bed, awesome breakfast and the reception staff was very friendly and helpful with all our needs. She went above and beyond! Definitely HIGHLY recommend staying here.
Much attention has been given to the 'details' such as signature soap, 24hr access to tea, coffee, treats, water. Also, access to a fridge and a great breakfast. Will definitely stay here again.
We came from Wisconsin and felt like a spa week. Great room, great staff, sauna and delicious breakfast. Had E bikes for us to use. Close to everything g we needed.
What a beautiful boutique hotel! Impressive renovations, friendly staff, spacious rooms, great snack and breakfast options and within walking distance of everything downtown Kimberley has to offer. We will definitely be back!
The rooms are not soundproof at all. Anyone coming out or in their room you could clearly hear them. A dog barking inside in the evening and morning. The room was clean and the bed very comfortable. The coffee machine in the snack room quit working so a there was a group of us waiting in the breakfast room downstairs for the coffee to finish. About 7:50 am it was ready.
We should have asked more questions when booking. No elevator so it took 2 of us 2 trips up and down 2 flight of stairs to bring in our luggage. There were 2 vehicles at the entrance parked which I would think those should be left for guests unloading their luggage. We were parked on the street because there wasn’t any other parking so down the street around and up to the hotel with our luggage twice. The hotel is beautiful, the sitting areas are gorgeous. Use of e-bikes very nice.
Next time ear plugs and either stay on the ground floor or less luggage.
This is a hidden gem! We loved our stay at this boutique hotel. The atmosphere of this place is warm and inviting and the staff were the same. The care and thoughtfulness that went into making our stay perfect was above and beyond what you would find in most hotels. The decorating is top notch and very well thought out as was the breakfast! We would love to stay here again.
Beautiful small hotel so that is like a home away from home. So cozy and comfortable and has everything you could want. This was our second time here and will definitely return!
My husband & I stayed at the Larix last year for a couple of night and enjoyed our stay. We stayed 4 night this time and were disappointed for a few reasons. My husband had an allergy attack as soon as we got into the bed it got worse throughout the night so 1st thing in the morning we went and got him Reactine, he ended up having to take a pill daily for the time we were there. I also had an allergic reaction but not as severe. My guess is it was a possibly a reaction to dog dander. The air conditioner unit was very noisy and although we would have loved the option of opening the window for cool fresh air that wasn't possible as the air conditioner was vented though the very small window that did not open. There was a very large dog that was down the hall from us that didn't seem to be socialized, he lunged and barked at my husband, just a tad unnerving. We overheard the cleaning staff member telling someone at the front desk that there was a dog odor that was lingering in one of the rooms. Although my husband & I do not have any pets we love animals, however do not feel that we should have to sleep in a bed previously occupied by someone's pet. I'm not sure why any hotel would not have separate rooms for people who brings pets along rather that expecting paying guests to sleep in the same room/bed previously occupied by a pet.
We will be returning to Kimberly next year but not sure we'll be staying at the Larix again which is unfortunate.
