"We visited Argentina from Boston, MA for a family vacation in Buenos Aires, staying at the 1828 Smart Hotel for 7 nights, broken up by trips to Iguazu and Patagonia. The staff was exceptional, always attentive, caring and professional. We were able to leave a large bag behind for our excursions. The breakfast was excellent, with several options and eggs prepared as requested. It is a small hotel oasis in Palermo. The outdoor pool and lounge area is as the pictures show. Palermo is wonderful - full of cafe's, excellent restaurants and shopping. We will miss the wonderful, proud people of Argentina and we miss the friendships we made with the wonderful staff. "

"For the price, this is an excellent place to stay while visiting Buenos Aires. You are a ~15 minute walk from all the major downtown sites. The neighbourhood itself felt very safe, even at night. The staff were very helpful. The water/coffee/tea in the lobby was appreciated. The room itself is sufficient. Feels like a fancy dorm room, but it has everything you need. Note that there are no windows (other than one opening in the inner hallway), so I had to get outside regularly, (which was the whole point of my visit). Would stay again and would highly recommend to others."

"The reviews here do not seem genuine. I booked this place based on these reviews which are essentially false. This is a 7/10 rating hotel at best. The location is good thats about it. The photos are incredibly generous to the reality of the place. The rooms are amazingly small. The whole hotel is filled with noises of people trying to enter their paper thin rooms with impossible to use keys. "

"We have stayed here many years ago and although a slightly older property now, we still find this hotel nice to stay at. Good location and amazing restaurant next door."
