"The property was in a great area. Hard to find a bad area in Kyoto. It's a truly wonderful city. Our hotel room was quite small for my taste and not strong in amenities. But it was very clean and the staff as always in Japan were very respectful and friendly. Breakfast buffet was average but decent and clean. "

"This hotel is fantastic! There is a wide selection of breakfast options, all with fresh ingredients, and staff are polite and friendly. I really love the design of the lobby and hallways – it feels very Zen. The guest rooms are larger than typical Japanese hotel rooms. The onsen (hot spring) is also excellent – after your bath, there are free ice cream, drinks, and snacks available. There's also self-service laundry equipment. The hotel is very close to the subway station, located in a quiet neighborhood. It's just a 10–15 minute walk to the bustling Shijo shopping district and Takashimaya department store. Overall, it was a perfect experience. Highly recommended!"

Hotel is clean, has everything you need, shower was really spacious better than other hotels, feels new. Overall on my trip to japan this was the best hotel i stay in. "My family of 8 had an excellent stay for 3 nights about 2 weeks back. We stayed on the 4th floor in 2 rooms. No elevator was an issue when moving luggage but the stairs were easy to climb, rooms were spacious and everything was clean. All amenities were excellent. The washer was helpful and the shower as a drying room worked awesome. The bus stops were close bus was frequent. Loved Kyoto and Ben's guesthouse!"
