The only downside, the bar prices are on the high side.

"I booked this hotel for a trip to Scotland with my adult children without knowing much about the area. Were we ever amazed to arrive and have Edinburgh castle across the way with a view of the castle from our window. Walkable to tons of shops and restaurants. Absolutely wonderful helpful staff. "Colessio is in a great location, walking distance to Stirling Castle, the church, and many pubs. The rooms are nice, beautifully decorated and clean. The staff is very pleasant and accommodating. I do not recommend the breakfast, it was overpriced for what was provided."
"Great unique 2 night stay while we explored Edinburgh during the Fringe. Cabin was perfect. Big comfy bed, strong shower and quality finish throughout. Breakfast at the bar each morning was lovely and the staff couldn’t be more helpful. Tony was so professional despite the demands of the crowded 9am sitting. Reception were likewise and the young barman who served us on our first night was the perfect host. Tram stop is minutes away from the ship so getting to the city centre when we didn’t fancy...
