Cute beach cottage that has everything you need to enjoy a stay at the ocean. Being pet-friendly was so appreciated. You can see the ocean waves rolling in and the dunes from the front window or by sitting on the large deck! The kitchen was well stocked with a nice coffee maker. Mike was quick to respond to any problems. The one downside was that the queen guest bed was really uncomfortable. It was soft and sagged in the middle.

Great stay! The beach is right across the road, the price was fair, and Mike was quick to answer any questions.Be sure to bring basics like trash bags, toilet paper, soap, and dishwasher soap. The house is pet-friendly, so there was a slight dog smell at first, but we adjusted quickly.A quick refresh of the throw rug and maybe replacing or removing the dark carpet in the master could help eliminate pet smells and make the space feel even fresher.We’d happily stay again!

Location was great. Enjoyed the stay even with Hurricane Erin's 50mph gusts. Issues that could make the stay better. AC filter was the dirtiest I've ever seen. Probably been a year our two but luckily he had a spare so I replaced it. Check-in was 4 but cleaners showed up at 355. My girlfriend had cleaned everything except the bathrooms so they cleaned them. Dining table was bowed severely from one end to the other. Ad saig gas grill, it was charcoal. Biggest issue is ad said they had the Spectrum App. It wasn't even loaded on any tvs. I couldn't watch any channels such as espn, nflnet, and couldn't get any local channels such as 3,10,13 from hampton roads area. Dryer heated the laundry room up to about 110 because the dryer was discharging into the room. Hose was only a foot long so it had to be slowly worked onto the pipe as I moved the dryer in place while pulling the hose up with a child's beach toy (rake.) Hose was so short it couldn't be put on properly unless the washer was pulled out for access. I managed to get it on and dry my one load of my towels. Screen was partially out of screen door but I was able to push the rubber retainer back in. Loved the views, closeness to the ocean, icemaker, surround decks, etc. I'd rent it again because the pros outweighed the deficiencies. Should have gotten a partial refund of the pricey cleaning fee since they only did a 10min bathroom freshen up.

Great Family Vacation

We had our family of 5 there with our dog. It was an amazing location, perfect amount of room and very clean! The place was perfect. I wish there was more ‘grass’ in the large back yard to walk our dog, but we managed.

Great little house!

Having John's right next door was a concern before we got there but it was no problem at all. They have a good dolphin boat meal and the hushpuppies are really good! The house is a little small but was perfect for our family of 5 (would work for 10 people with double bunks in one room). It was very clean, and the bed linens provided were so cute and beachy themed! There are lots of beach toys, kites, corn hole, chairs and umbrellas, however, we opted to use our own umbrellas because we couldn't adjust the height of the two provided. There were 4-5 beach chairs that were useable but were starting to get a little rusty and missing the can holders. There's a new lounger and lawn chair available. The beach cart was difficult to get over the large dune, it kept wanting to tip because of the one small wheel on the front so I wouldn't count on that. This house is conveniently located close to The Wright Brothers Memorial, 3 of the 5 OBX lighthouses, and several great restaurants. We would highly recommend Tale of a Whale (early bird special 20% off is a great deal) and Miller's Waterfront restaurant if you are looking for a nice dinner. You can't go wrong with Duck Donuts and Surfin' Spoon either! OBX is definitely a beautiful vacation spot. We had a wonderful stay and would recommend this property to others!

Small bungalow perfect for couple or small family

Enjoyed the stay on a quick trip down to OBX. House was as advertised and overall a good value. Owner/manager was very good communicator. A few things of note. Kitchen is very small, only one cook please! Below the house, there is very little privacy at all from the neighbors hot tub and the restaurant next door. If you like your privacy, taking a shower downstairs will have you watching the neighbors in their hot tub. This could be easily solved by adding another two feet to the shower walls and frankly some privacy screening on the outside of the driveways. I will say the only thing that was disappointing was finding broken glass in the back yard sand area. I let the owner know and they said they would address it. Be very careful if you don't wear shoes back there or if you have pets.

Nice for the price

We liked the the view and the location, but wished for more comfortable furniture. The beds were too soft and we would have preferred a smaller sofa with a couple of upholstered chairs so we had options for sitting and watching TV. We also would have liked some directions for using the TV/Roku. We enjoyed the hot tub, the shower was good, the owner was quick to respond to our concerns. Overall, a good experience.

Great house

This was the perfect house for a small family. Great beach access, close to everything, clean, comfortable, kitchen stocked, and host was quick to respond to messages! We will definitely stay again

great location. overall nice property

overall we had a lovely trip. the cleaners did not clean prior to our. arrival. they showed up to clean 2 hours after our check in so the place was a little messy. lots of sand on the floors and bathrooms not clean but nothing egregious. the cleaners then showed up 1/2 hr before check out creating unneccessary pressure to our already busy morning as they were parked right next to us watching us try to pack up and load the car. it was uncomfortable. the place also just a bit run down. like the safety rails on the bunk bed are held on by zip ties which seems unsafe. also half the property lists to one side almost 3 inches lower on one side of the house. while its likely safe enough it does give off the concern that the house is going to fall down. at least half of it. the location is nice and despite a few hiccups overall a nice enough stay.

Great rental

Super clean house directly across from the beach. Ocean views & breeze. Beds are comfortable, quality linens, central A/C that kept the house comfortable during a heat wave. Fully stocked kitchen. Good supply of beach items for use including chairs, umbrella, beach cart, toys, spike ball and cornhole. Would definitely stay again!

Dog and Family friendly

We were pleasantly surprised by all the amenities of this property. We have a dog, and appreciated the gated deck so that the dog could hang with us on the porch. When we went down to see what was available for the beach I found a great light weight tent, corn hole Fridays, boogie boards chairs…Sven a Charcoal grill, with charcoals, lighter and starter. We don’t crate the dog because he is really chill but they even had a crate folded up under the bed. The location was perfect. Just over the hill to the beach. And the breeze off the water was amazing. The rest of VA was in a heat wave but we would have never known. The Hot tub was the best in the evenings. We aren’t really a streaming family so the tv was kinda lame. (For the kids, but mom loved not having to compete with the television. And they figured out how to stream their favorite YouTube channels.) we never really got the tv to work in the master bedroom. I think the internet just wouldn’t reach. Seriously we had a really great time and loved every bit of the house. (Word of caution: walking the dog on the beach is a pain for my dog. He is a hound mutt and chases waves. So I rather walk him on the road. That beach road has no sidewalk. And the shoulder is very narrow. I did find a few “hiking” paths. But they were VERY buggy.)

Great, Relaxing Stay

We had a wonderful stay at this property. The location is unbeatable. Directly across from the beach and within walking distance to restaurants. The property was clean and the beds were comfortable. We hope to make it back someday soon!
