"We stayed there for one night only luckily!! The air conditioning was broken so we were sweating all night. Plus there was no hot water so our shower was freezing. "

"I booked my reservation about 8 months in advance. I booked a king bed but I showed up with my wife and was told they didn’t have a king room available. So they gave us a two queen room. Not impressed. Also, Noisy construction right next to building started every morning about 5am. There are only four elevators to service about 15 to 18 floor floors of rooms. Needless to say you often find yourself waiting for 5-10 minutes just to get up or down the elevator."

"We enjoyed our one-night stay on property! The staff was awesome - front desk, valet, housekeeping, Swell bar & pool staff & DJ! The room was clean for the most part, with the exception of the two molded dresser drawers that were closest to the fridge. If we were staying multiple nights, I would have requested to change rooms because we typically unpack our luggage and use the drawers. But because of our quick stay we were ok it. The view of the ocean & diamond head was also amazing! The food, drinks & festive music at the pool side was extra fun! Cold li hing mui pineapple chunks to snack on was a perfect treat! Love the vibe at Swell! Mahalo nui for taking such good care of kanaka! "

"Please be aware of one important fact at this hotel. On Expedia website it does not give clear pictures of the fact that you will likely be staying at an attached nearby hotel NOT the historic hotel which you think you are staying at when you book this hotel based on photos and advertising. Their pictures show main historic hotel while they put you in a high rise next door caller their "tower" rooms which we were not aware of because again no full advertising. The rooms in the "tower" are very mediocre and not worth the money you are paying for a higher end hotel pictured on Expedia (the main building). You can get a high rise hotel for a fraction of the price nearby so be aware that you are most likely staying in nearby addition. Also in the new addition there are no locks for the bathroom so if you care about your privacy then this is a concern. Also be aware there are doors in every room to room in tower that can be useful if you are booking 2 rooms and need to connect them...however if you don't then you will be stuck with someones next door who will be loud as these doors let in a lot of noise to the next room. You will feel like people are talking in your room which was very difficult to sleep during the night. We decided to leave to a nearby hotel for fraction of price ad advertising was for a wrong hotel but Expedia did not want to help much and stilk charged us for 1 nights stay. "

"Overall a great stay. But we ended up paying an extra $1200CAD with the "extra" resort fee and parking for 8 nights. Crazy expensive. Besides the extra we had to pay it was a great stay. Very clean but had a bit musty smell and everything felt kinda wet. But I think that comes with being so close to the ocean and tropical island. "
