"We had a wonderful stay at this hotel! From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the warm welcome, friendly staff, and overall atmosphere. Our room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained, with everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The location was convenient, just a block away from the train station, making it very easy to explore. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay pleasant, and their attention to detail really stood out. We truly enjoyed our time here and would happily stay again. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable, welcoming, and enjoyable place to stay!"

"I truly enjoyed my stay at this Ryokan. The omotenashi (Japanese hospitality) was outstanding from the arrangement of the pick-up at the train station, to the staff having my bags picked upon arrivals and take them to my room while I checked in, to the quality of the traditional Japanese dinner and breakfast included, and let’s not forget about the onsens! They offer an outdoor and and indoor private onsen that you can book in advance for half hour, a huge public outdoor/indoor onsen that you can use anytime from 3pm to 9am, as well as access to all 9 public onsens in the town which you need a key to access. It was fun to do a pilgrimage through all wearing the yukata and wood sandals (be aware that water is usually extremely hot in these!). I also appreciated to know that you are allowed to all this onsens if you have tattoos. The hotel also offers drop-off/pick-up shuttle to the snow monkey park, which I did after checking out and they brought my bags when picking me up to take me to the train station. All in all, a marvelous experience that I will cherish for life."

"While this is an older hotel, it is clean, things are in working order, and rather charming and unique. For example, I had a large room with a small patio that offered a beautiful view of the city. It’s in a quaint quiet town with gorgeous views of the mountains surrounding the town. I appreciated the thoughtful touch of hot green tea. The thermos amazingly kept the water hot even till the next morning. Because I went during « low » season in May, I was able to enjoy the onsen to myself ! The host/owner is a sweet man. It is rather expensive for one night but I did not regret my stay. I did get plenty of exercise being on the fourth floor with no elevator."
