"This was my third time staying at this hotel and I was very pleased to find nothing had changed in the last 8 years as it's gone from being Le Meridien to The Lamai. Staff are extremely helpful, friendly and professional at all times and keep the whole resort immaculately maintained. Hotel reception use WhatsApp to make arrangements and updates hassle free - whether arranging transfers, updating on events around the hotel, or general queries. I stayed in a room a tier up from the type with a shared pool I'd stayed in before - the Pool Villa granted me my own (circa 6m sq) pool, 2 loungers and an shaded seating area with ceiling fan. As a smaller boutique resort it was lovely and peaceful, whilst I don't think it's formally adult only, it feels refined and mature. Getting into the heart of Lamai is a short (1-2km) walk, and can mostly be done along the beach. Taxis and scooter taxi can be easily booked via the Grab app, with a scooter turning up in a typical 3mins and fare to the centre no more than 60baht. The hotel recommended a hire company which I hired my own scooter from for the duration of the stay and the ring road makes exploring the island and it's sights easy - you can easily get into more rural hilly areas within 15mins ride from the hotel. I really enjoyed the tranquility of my two week stay and I didn't want to leave (must ensure my next stay doesn't have an 8 year gap)"

"I loved staying with them and getting to know them. They are lovely, honest, hard working people and their property is well maintained, clean and spacious. If I could change a few things. Do not allow smoking in the balconies. The rest of us who don’t smoke suffocate with windows open and no one came to Thailand to stay with windows closed. Parking bikes outside people’s entrances is another issue. There were times I didn’t have access to my property especially as I needed to bring my bicycle in because bikes were parked outside. Not to mention the noise and general disturbance from continuous parking in and out as it was right outside the balcony etc. having said that, I would happily return and would be even happier to see some changes taking into account the above. "For the price this place cannot be beat. Amazing location near night market (but I prefer fresh market- even closer and cheaper). Nice pool and 5 min walk to the beach. They will give you towels but it’s also easy to walk along the beach and snag a lounger and umbrella at a bar or resort if you buy a drink or two. Perfectly clean and comfy staff was amazing!"

"The hotel is on a lovely beach, a short walk to restaurants and bars in a quiet location, staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent for me as I like an English breakfast followed with a bowl of yoghurt fresh fruit, nuts/ seeds after a fresh cup of coffee from the coffee machine. The hotel restaurant in on the beach front a plus. The rooms are a few years old, but are nice with a comfortable bed and a balcony overlooking the green walkways which connects the hotel complex. Would I stay here again, yes it gets my approval. The only problem was the shower water pressure was a bit erratic. I had a fantastic holiday with my son here who also loved it."

"Nice resort on beachfront. We had a superior Seaview room which was very comfortable. Glad we didn’t take a bungalow as we were told they were noisy with lots of mosquitos. Lovely pool with lots of sun lounges and more sun lounges on the beach. Close to everything including shops restaurants and food markets. Enjoyed staying here and extended our stay for another 5 nights."

"Really enjoyed our stay here. Staff SO friendly and helpful. Great location: right on a beautiful beach (golden sand, clear warm water, no rocks & no seaweed). Nearby are lots of bars/cafes/restaurants to walk to as well as Lamai night time food market (huge choice!) with nightly live music, cocktails etc. Hotel itself serves great food (huge menu) in it’s restaurant & we even had dinner at a table in the middle of the beach (private/beautiful: no extra but u can pay more for fancy stuff). Wed night was a bbq & salads etc with a crazy fire show after: def recommend! Good prices! Reviews prior made me nervous but it was so much better. Comfy bed (best of 14 hotels on our tour!) robes, slippers, toiletries & waters/tea/coffee. Towels for pool/beach given daily. Bathroom a bit dated but still adequate. Many plug sockets. Main bedroom lovely with fridge, lovely lighting and balcony/chairs/table and drying rack on it. Safe area. Pool area really good (long hours). When we checked out the hotel stored our bags for free and supplied us with fresh towels and a changing area with showers for free. Can’t believe is not 4 star & our time there/whole hotel & island experience was 10/10! "
