"We had a lovely stay at the pensione. It’s in a great spot in Vernazza just off of all the tourist traffic and very close to the train station. The whole staff is a small group and very pleasant. They helped us make reservations for dinner and absolutely did not steer us wrong both in terms of restaurant, location and quality of meal. They were very helpful in accommodating the entire trip. The rooms are basic, but just what you need as a homebase to ramble around Cinque Terre. Vernazza clears of most of the tourists at night, so you can unwind and enjoy what you had imagined these little coastal towns to be"

"This is a beautiful former monastery high up above Monterosso. You need to contact the hotel in advance to make a shuttle reservation and they will pick you up near the train station. The hotel also has a restaurant and bar. Most of the other guests were hikers from the trail between towns. We sat outside at sunset with a glass of wine, admiring the beautiful view. While there’s no Wi-Fi or AC in the rooms in the main building, it was very comfortable, clean and quiet. There were large windows we opened to let in the breeze. We stayed with our college age kids who loved the location."
