"I stayed in the single compact room which was ideal for me as I was at a function so just needed a clean and comfortable overnight stay. I found the room to be very clean. Plenty of drawer and wardrobe space. A vegan option for breakfast was available for me. Overall I found my stay to be excellent value for money "

The hotel was super easy to find, had parking right outside the door and a pleasant atmosphere with guests enjoying dinner on the terrace. Staff was friendly, the room nicely decorated and without trying too hard, which I did appreciate. Even my husband who usually struggles to sleep through the night slept soundly. "Penny Hedge is a friendly, clean , comfortable little hotel. We have stayed here a few times. The breakfast is reasonably priced and of good quality. The food in the bar is good on an evening. All the staff are very friendly and helpful in all areas . The rooms are very clean and comfortable . The beds are comfortable, the bathrooms are clean and adequate. We will always stay here when coming gif a break in Whitby and surrounding areas. "

"A lot of building work going on so somewhat noisy and dusty and beautiful panorama restaurant out of use these are the bad points but the good points are the staff especially Ben our server has n the restaurant who was excellent as was the food we love this place and the views are amazing we will certainly be back yet again to see how it is when the renovations are complete"
