Agate Beach House - waterfront in Grand Marais

"Great location - just walk down the driveway and down to the beach. Absolutely amazing. Lake Superior is beautiful and the beach there is just enormous. It was our first time so we enjoyed looking for agates and yooperlites; not much luck on those but there are countless beautiful rocks along miles of beach. Bring your water shoes! And a 365nm UV flashlight for more looking at dusk. What fun!The house was great, easily sleeping 6 to 8 in three separate bedrooms, more if you squished. We had fewer so had tons of room. Everything was clean - blankets, towels, etc. Clean fridges; coffee maker worked like a charm. Shower was a bit snug and shower head a bit low unless you're maybe 5'6" or less, but water was warm. WiFi worked great. Plenty of seating too; nice fire pit, Large driveway if you have multiple cars.Grand Marais is a great little town and breakfast at The Breakwater was delicious! Only complaint was they had limpy fries everywhere we went... haha, but fear not: most places also had tater tots, and those were always crisp, so pro tip: order the tots, not the fries.The road to Munising is a fun, winding drive and the Pictured Rocks Spray Falls cruise is well worth it! Otherwise, plenty to see, waterfalls and hiking all over. A great trip and a great stay at Agate Beach House. Thanks!"

"The house was a great house for our large group. We had enough space so everyone could eat together and with the kitchen and living area all one space it worked very well for playing games. The grandkids loved the game room, and so did the adults. The garage was perfect for the storage of our 4-wheelers. We were left fixings for s’mores which was very thoughtful. We went to see the Sable waterfall and Grand Sable Dunes. Very beautiful and an easy hike. We drove to Munising to take the cruise out to see the Pictured Rocks. It was worth the drive. We ate at Eh Burgers right across from the dock and my whitefish was delicious! Grand Marais is a beautiful small town. The root beer at Pine Stump Junction was amazing! We had a small problem with the upstairs shower and JD was very responsive and got it fixed for us. We would definitely stay here again."

"The host was so friendly and attentive! There were things (trails, boat tours, restaurants, etc.) to do within a 4 minute drive and others that took no more than an hour. The place needed some sprucing up, though. We found spiders everywhere from the bathroom to the dining table. Additionally, some of the doors are very challenging to open/close. Overall, not bad for the price especially if you are going with multiple people."

"Everything was ready and clean. The bed/bedding was very comfortable. Communication with the host was quick and easy. I like having the choice of a coffee maker and/or a Keurig. Good water pressure in the shower as well. The host also let us know about the new Rock Shop that we stopped in a few times. Thank you for that information or we wouldn't have known. Location is great. Will hopefully stay again."

"This cozy little cabin in Grand Marais was clean, comfortable, and made for a great home base while exploring the area. We also appreciated that it allowed our two dogs, which made traveling much easier.We’d definitely stay here again. The only reasons we’re giving it 4 instead of 5 stars are that it’s about a 1.5-mile drive to the waterfront (rather than an easy walk), and the cabin uses well water that has a very orange color, so we’d recommend bringing your own drinking water.Overall, it was a comfortable, clean cabin in a quiet location and a great option if you’re traveling with dogs."

"We had some difficulty finding the property because GPS was messing around. We calles Leslie and she responded and helped up. Afterwards, she actually send someone to make sure we found it successfully. It was a super cute little place, out of the mainstream of everything which meant it was quiet and peaceful!! We will stay there again!! We totally love it!!"
