"Our room was clean and the kitchen was reasonably well stocked with a toaster, pots, pans, silverware, and glasses. The standard sized refrigerator/freezer and the stovetop were both nice. Other limited small appliances were available from the front desk. The property's grills were in average condition. The grill utensils available from the desk were very good. The only actual food onsite was in the form of frozen sandwiches from a vending machine (which we ate the night we arrived as it was too late to go out to get other food) and they were actually decent, but a bit pricey. We had a suite with a separate bedroom and if we closed the door, the bedroom was miserably warm, so the air conditioning was less than great. The common areas on the property were not kept particularly clean and the same drips and dirt remained on the tile floors for days. If you want to wash some laundary, I would strongly recommend that you find an external laudary mat, as we paid $10 per load (a total of $30 for three), not just because of the cost of the loads (wash & dry), but because of the high "exchange rate" to use their app to operate the equipment. We purchased our own detergent at Walmart. There was plenty of parking around the building but the locks on the building entry doors were inconsistent and often would not open with the room keys. We had two small dogs, so we borrowed a broom a couple of times. Having one in each room would be better. The staff was pleasant & quite helpful,"

"The hotel was very nice! My husband and girls all said it was the best sleep they have had at a hotel! The beds were comfortable, the bathroom was nice and big, and it was very clean. The breakfast was average but had options. The check in staff could have been a little friendlier, but the check out staff was very nice!"

"Our overall experience with this property was favorable. It was well stocked in the kitchen and the bathrooms. The basement bathroom was a bit damp, and the exhaust fan was very noisy and didn't seem to be working very well. We didn't use it, which was unfortunate given the dampness of the room. The towels in the basement never felt dry either - a combination of the dampness and the low quality of the towels. And the only other criticism we would have is that there were no Kleenex provided anywhere in the house. Otherwise, we enjoyed playing ping pong and hanging out when we were at the house. I would recommend this property to others, especially if you have a large group and would utilize the games and activities in the basement, which also includes a large wet bar with a stove and refrigerator."

"Wow! What a top notch member of the Marriot Brand. We were coming in for the State Fair and a concert so I called day before to see if we could have an early check in or atleast leave our bags at the hotel since we would not be coming back until very late at night. They said to call as we were heading into DSM and check if our room was ready and so we did and got to check in by around 1:30 that day. Room was very nice. Clean and so quiet. And spotless.. . We slept like babies. The staff is awesome and they genuinely seem to like being there and what they do. One of the ladies was from Bosnia working with the other young man at check in and I loved talking with her as we shared similar cultures and spoke some of the same languages. We usually stay at Marriott’s and will stay here again- we’ve already told some of our friends how nice it was and half of what we pay to stay at the Surety downtown DM and honesty it’s only a short drive to anywhere you want to go. Cannot recommend enough."
