"The entire team at Swan Hotel was very friendly and engaged well with the guests. The restaurant was excellent for both breakfast and dinner. Our superior room was large, clean and very comfortable. The hotel was an easy 30 minute walk to Jane Austen’s home and Chawton. Would highly recommend the Swan Hotel for a stay in Alton."

Two free bottles of water were included, plus a kettle with ample coffee and tea sachets and two packets of biscuits. Only things missing in the room were a hairdryer and WiFi password details, which I obtained later from a staff member."

"What a charming place! Our room was above the pub which had good food and drink. Even better, the pub closes at 11 pm every night so it’s quiet for sleeping. The breakfast was very good and the management super friendly and helpful. This place has a long and interesting history which it preserves in its pleasant decor. "
