"I am a frequent international traveler. But this inn is probably the worst among accommodations that I stayed in the past 2 decades. First of all, the location was BAD. Trash on the street with random topless old guys chilling and sitting on the block, they didn’t look like homeless but local neighbors who lived in the area. My kid saw a big rat falling off one of the building roofs while we haul or luggages from the Didi dropoff point to the hotel. There were many restaurants and shops on the pedestrian only street (Shangxiajiu) but they were the budget kind. I know Starglazing tried to go for a retro style, advertising for 西關風情. But to me it was not retro it was simply old. I stayed at Manxin in Beijing before, which transformed the traditional courtyard homes (四合院)into a decent boutique hotel, keeping the traditional architecture and vibe. Stargazing is NOT that. There were molds, dirts, rust everywhere in the room. The “beds” were only mattresses that sit directly on the floor, no bed frames. The bathroom is a wet bath meaning there is no curtain between the shower and toilet. So when one person showers, the entire bathroom gets wet, the toilet, the floor, everything gets wet. If you aren’t careful, the toilet paper and your clothes may get wet as well. The only reason you should consider staying at this inn is the price, which is very affordable and it’s close to popular tourist spots like 永慶坊。"
