"Communication prior to arrival difficult. We were given a short boat tour, without being asked, and later charged for it, as was each boat trip. Property not the one advertised and rented, it was much smaller..Just as we were leaving we were presented with 90 45 soles in extra charges, which had never been declared. "We had the most wonderful trip to Puno and Lake Titicaca and mostly because we had Lucy as our host! She helped arrange transportation from the airport and were dropped off to her front door where she was waiting to greet us. The house is very clean and we had all the amenities we needed for our stay. We traveled as a group of 4 and the house accommodated us perfectly. Hotel Balsa Inn

"It was my first time to Puna, but I hit the jackpot when I booked the Hotel Balsa Inn. Close to the main plaza and the main thoroughfare with all kinds of shops and restaurants, the hotel is super convenient to all that Puna has to offer. My room was clean and comfortable, and the spacious bathroom was particularly noteworthy (hot showers are sometimes hard to find in Peru!). Everyone at the front desk was incredibly helpful -- food recommendations, arranging tours, facilitating laundry services, etc. The breakfast buffet was a highlight -- lots of freshly-prepared options to start your day on a good note. If I ever return to Puno, I won't need to do a search for accommodations -- the Hotel Balsa Inn will be my first and only reliable choice."
