"Days Inn at Abington provided all that was necessary for a comfortable stop-over en route. "On arrival, the reception staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. Room was clean and tidy and beds were very comfortable so a great night sleep. We visited the bar for an evening meal, we arrived at 5:30pm but later realised that food was not served until 6pm, therefore the service on ordering the meal appeared somewhat disjointed the staff were very quiet and the servers may have been new to the venue as they appeared inexperienced - just required some communication to advise re the timings etc; that said the food was very good, well presented and delicious. Breakfast was upstairs and we received a friendly welcome and asked if we had eaten there before, we advised we hadn't and we were promptly told how the breakfast service worked, a much warmer reception than for the evening meal. Timings allowed for breakfast were short, however, we can understand for the summer months as different wedding parties may be booked. The grounds are lovely and we took a sneak peek inside the chapel, very pretty and we could easily imagine a wedding service taking place. We were only here for 1 night and overall enjoyed our stay, the welcoming reception team were, for us, the highlight. "
