This was probably one of the worst rooms I have ever stayed in. It bore no resemblance whatsoever of the pictures posted by this hotel. We were in Room 13 - take my advice, if you HAVE to stay here, specifically request that it’s not room 13! The room was tiny, the bed shoved into one corner. The springs inside the mattress could easily be felt when lying on it. There was only 1 pillow each. The TV didn’t work (well it switched on, but you couldn’t view anything on it). There were not coffee or tea making facilities in the room either. The ‘desk’ mentioned in the description was a tiny drop leaf table, but no ability to raise the leafs because it was missing the slide out supports, rendering it useless. There was also not a chair. The en-suite was very tired, complete with rusty toilet roll holder, the sink was minuscule and seemed to have the added feature of loose taps. This made them extremely difficult to turn on and especially off. My partner would not take her socks off to walk on the carpet!
The breakfast was OK (basically bacon, mushrooms, beans and 2 eggs) I opted for coffee and bizarrely only got half a cup. I asked for fried bread but was told they only did toast. There was a jug of orange juice on the table, but this was whisked away pretty much as soon as we had poured ourselves a glass each.
I managed to get this place on some kind of deal that gave me £50 off, so we paid £90 for the night. Would we stay there again? Absolutely not!
