RVA offers Silver Sands Gulf Beach Resort. Located beach front on beautiful Longboat Key, this resort offers all the amenities of a large hotel with the privacy and seclusion that has Silver Sands guests returning each year. Relax on our private beach, walk on our soft white sand, take a dip in our heated beachside pool, or enjoy a complimentary chaise lounge and beach umbrella while breathing in the fresh salt-water air. Practice your golf game on our putting green or relax on our beautiful beach with your favorite novel. Wireless Internet access is available in the privacy of your individual unit, at the garden area or on the pool deck.



Limited Membership Privileges: Guests of Silver Sands Gulf Beach Resort #250 will have temporary membership privileges at Cedars Tennis Resort located at 645 Cedars Court on Longboat Key. The limited temporary membership allows the guest access to fully-lit Har-Tru tennis and pickleball courts (after 1 p.m. daily and subject to availability), community bicycles and Jr. Olympic heated swimming pool. The guest will also have access to the community fitness center.

The unit is immaculately clean, with beautiful, comfortable furnishings. The view is incredible. The only thing is that the beach chairs could use some cleaning/updating, as some are missing straps or dirty.

Pleasantly surprised. The unit was brighter and nicer than I expected. The pool was very nice and clean. The only complaint is I whacked both of my knees on the corner of the bed frame in the middle of the night. A little bleach would help get rid of the mildew on the clear shower curtain. Overall great and I would stay there again without a doubt.

The unit was newly renovated and very comfortable. Being on the second floor this time, the views were amazing. The steps were a little tough to navigate with luggage and such but we managed. The management are very responsive and great to deal with. Would definitely stay again!

The office staff was very welcoming and helpful. We’ve been renting two units for our family at Silver Sands the past 8 years for spring break week. It’s a great place for families. Last year our 10 yr old grandson complained about the beds so we definitely knew what we were getting.

Location and view of the ocean was excellent. The condo itself needs a little love. Walls need paint, cracks on the balcony and needed a cleaning. Balcony furniture and decor needs major update. The kitchen also needed way more supplies. Can opener that works, colander, spatula and baking dishes. The hair dryer was also super old and didn’t turn off unless it was unplugged.

The property needs all around updating. Walk to beach is not cleared. No nice pathway. Chairs are old some broken etc. they provide you a zip tie for your umbrella. Pillows in room are old and worn. Air filter was dirty in a/c. I do NOT recommend this place for the cost. I will NOT return.

Picked oceanfront unit and was willing to pay a premium to do so. All in, it was $460 per night. Our disappointment was the cleanliness of the unit as well as the patio furniture which needs to be removed and replaced since it is in severe disrepair. Dirty pots and pans, kitchen counters were not clean...The unit needs a deep cleaning to make it bring this type of price

We really enjoyed Cedars fitness and racquet sports across the street and found it a completely relaxing time. The unit itself is a gem. Newly updated and clean. The king size bed is very comfortable. There was one issue that was disappointing and didn’t seem to fit with the rest of the experience and that was the pull out sofa where my daughters slept. It was uncomfortable to sit in as a couch, well worn and stained. That would’ve been tolerable, but the pull out bed was really bad, they were actually extra cushions stuffed under the mattress to help. It was very uncomfortable and my girls said they would’ve preferred an air mattress. The place is so great if we go again we will just take an air mattress. Management and staff were fantastic.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I called RVA on 10/2 to cancel this reservation due to Hurrican Helene, as we had no idea what condition the condo or for that matter, the island was in. I was told there would be no refund as I cancelled less than 2 weeks before our scheduled stay. I was offered a voucher good for one year, but requested it be extended to 18 months, as we are planning on returning in April of 2026. I was waiting for an answer as Hurricane Milton struck, doing further damage. I have not pursued the matter yet, as I know there are many recovery efforts happening. But I will ask again in the next couple of weeks. The ratings below only indicate that we did not stay for the week planned. Our many previous visits have been extraordinary, which is why we return and hope to again.

The only complaint I would have is that the shower curtain liner was dirty, which is so gross. A new liner should be put up after each guest. The bathroom looks new and was very clean except for the shower liner. The bed and pillow were ok. The kitchen is stocked with enough for a small family or a couple people. The view is perfect. It is a bit of a walk for someone that may not be in the best of shape to get to the room as it's located all the way in the back and up a flight of stairs. The pool looked great, unfortunately due to a tropical storm it was closed. Plenty of beach chairs available. I would return.
