Casa La Guardia, a 3 bedrooms Panoramic Apartment

Live the history inhabiting the medieval rooms of CASA LA GUARDIA at this classic apartment inside Lucca’a Walls. This apartment is built inside the Medieval left tower of the Bastion of Porta San Gervasio and within this rooms dating back to 1100s the guards (Guarnigione) and its chief lived to overlook and protect the town of Lucca from a vantage high point.
The interior of this three-level 3rd floor home breathes the country air through plentiful windows to overlooking the roofs and the hills surrounding the town. The cosy interiors includes a classic vintage and antique pieces, vibrant colours, Wifi connection, air conditioning and a kitchen with a lovely view. The kitchen is fully equipped with modern appliances and generous prep areas for the passionate cook.

Checking after 8.00pm is possible on request and with a fee of 50 euros, to be paid on arrival. After midnight, the late check-in fee increases to 100 euros.

COMPOSITION:
Main Floor (3rd floor of the building): living room, master bedroom, twin bedroom with ceiling window (just for light, not openable), bathroom, kitchen.
Upper Floor: 1 bathroom, laundry room, wardrobe room.
Top roof Floor: 1 bedroom with French window and amazing view. This was the bedroom of the chief of the medieval guards of the bastion.
Live the Italian history within these Walls. Be careful, this accommodation is not ideal for people with mobility restrictions.

The rental property is located within the ZTL area (Limited Traffic Area, accessible only by permanent residents and people with special permission) and does not offer on-site parking.
The closest Parking Mazzini is located in a walking distance from the rental property, so leaving the car there prior reaching the apartment is essential. By following the road signs you will be able to avoid the ZTL area while driving to the parking.
We kindly inform all guests that the rental property is self catering so hotel-like services are excluded by law (reception, surveillance of the accommodation, provision of meals and drinks, daily cleaning and linen change, transfers). For such reason any additional service can be provided on request and with the collaboration of external qualified partners and charged accordingly.

We loved our few days in Lucca. The accommodation was excellent and clean and to a high standard. The service from Lucca apartments and Villas was top quality especially Elizabeth who was in immediate contact when we needed assistance. Highly recommended.

Lovely welcome from Cristina. Great location, great size and very well equiped. Wonderful views from the kitchen window. We were three couples and really enjoyed our stay here. Our only issue was the water pressure in both of the showers. It was dire and really needs looking at.

This apartment is cute and in a great location inside the walls of Lucca. The bedroom directly across from the front door has the most comfortable mattress, IMO. The bedroom upstairs has a great view. It really felt like home for 12 days, and I’d stay again in a heartbeat. Also, pack small bags. Carrying a large suitcase up 72 stairs is not an easy task.

The 5 of us had a great holiday staying in this lovely apartment. Centrally located in easy access of beautiful churches, great veg shop for home cooking in this excellent kitchen, lovely friendly cafes and easy train connections to explore further away. Probably the biggest hidden gem inside Lucca. You need to book it. Aside from the amazing photos of the place. It’s inside the tower. You and your people would love it!

Perfect for our group of 5 with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Heat issue in apartment was fixed immediately, so very happy with response time and professionalism. Upstairs bathroom challenging for tall people due to low ceilings.

Everything went very smoothly from booking through departure. We were there during the summer concert season and at night we would open our bedroom window and let the music drift in. House was well stocked and management easy to communicate with. Convenient to everything. You should be comfortable with stairs as there are quite a few. Was t an issue for us, but something you should know. We would rent again.

Very pretty appartment in a superb location. Many mosuitoes, very hard to keep rooms cool, power went out twice. Staff didnt inform clearly on check-out procedure, so we waited hours in vain. This is a beautiful and spacious apartment to stay in in Lucca. I stayed with my husband and two adult daughters and we were very comfortable. The location is great, it is in the old town and only a few minutes walk from all the main sights. Plenty of restaurants very nearby - you can see 4 from the windows and the food is delicious in all of them! If you want to cook at the apartment the kitchen is well equipped with pans/cutlery/crockery etc. The apartment has unusual and quirky rooms in a medieval tower, very nicely presented with comfortable beds and beautiful views over the roof tops. There is air conditioning which considering the heat of an Italian summer we were very grateful for. Because it is high it is also very quiet but there are quite a few steps to the front door. There is also a laundry room which is really useful. Would definitely recommend the apartment and would stay here again!

Vi var 3 generasjoner på tur til Italia. Leiligheten er romslig og behagelig. Tårn-suiten er helt spesiell. Selv om bygget er ekstremt gammelt, holder leiligheten en god standard og det er air condition i alle oppholdsrom. Lucca er en flott by å være i med mange gode spisesteder og spennende gater og bygninger. Lett å nå resten av Toscana siden det er togstasjon rett utenfor bymurene. Der kan man også leie en bil.
