"A great welcome after a long delayed trip. Our room was excellent, clean tidy with comfortable beds & quality bedding. Super large walk in shower room. Breakfast was superb. Staff very helpful & friendly. The location is perfect for a 10 minute walk into Barnstaple town centre along the promenade by the river. An excellent stay, shame it was only for one night. "Great location minutes away from cafés, pubs and eateries. Funicular virtually next door. Lovely old hotel, clean and full of character though indeed of a little tlc. We were made very welcome and our rooms were upgraded at no extra cost with amazing views across the valley. Very dog friendly and would definitely stay there again. Thank you. "
