"My Friends and I stayed at Cosgrove Cottage over the weekend just gone, and it was nothing short of magical. The setting is simply beautiful, right on the edge of the Forest. The marketing photos do not do it justice, you have to see it to believe it. The presentation of the actually property was immaculate and the Owners were very possibly the nicest people I have ever met. Warm, welcoming and extremely accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble. The Tour of the Grounds was informative but relaxed, and we had the most wonderful time. I shall be returning and I urge anyone to visit this place at least once. Top Drawer!!!!!"

"Lovely room - it was well equipped and great location. Disappointed with the customer service - did not feel valued as guests - from a perfunctory Manager to bar staff that did not even look up from washing glasses whilst waiting at the bar. This is down to training and never went beyond the minimum customer service. Shame as the room was excellent but customer service let it down."

"Fabulous find, great communication from owner, arrived late and excellent direction to rental was given. On entering the property was very impressed, what a bargain for such a lovely property. Would definitely recommend Birds Farm if your visiting Colchester or surrounding areas."

"This is a very quite and well kept location. It took a day or so to figure out the heating system but after that it was great. The place was clean and there was lots of hot water for showers. "

"We had a very nice overnight stay. The hotel decor was welcoming, warm and bright, and all staff were friendly and professional. The beds were fresh, clean and comfortable and the bathroom was very clean. The shower was powerful and hot and there were toiletries provided if needed. We brought our own hairdryer and there didn't appear to be one provided in the room. The heating was efficient and easily adjusted. There was a large selection at the continental breakfast buffet, and the cooked breakfast was hot and fresh, with good quality bacon and sausages. Our only slight criticism was that the breakfast tables were painted wood with no covering and did not appear as clean as they could be. Tea/coffee stains on the table tops and dust in the grooves around the edges detracted from the otherwise lovely, bright breakfast room. The paper menus were also food/drink stained and could easily be replaced. Overall we thought The Dragonfly was a great, reasonably priced hotel for our overnight stay and we would stay there again. "Spacious room - staff very helpful- beautiful surroundings - lovely breakfast - asked to extend room for 1 hour and no quibble. Even an electric charge point - sadly did not get to experience the spa. Will definitely stay again "
