Hideaway Inn Franconia Notch

8/10 Good

"The manual check-in could not find our reservation - we put in every combo possible. Which resulted in us calling the help line who also could not find the confirmation. The company/inn is supposed to send a text message with your individual door code check-in. However, if you don't have the appropriate SMS messages - it never goes through. We tried calling the front desk number and it took a long time and going back and forth for them to find our reservation. We had to ask for the information to be sent to an email and we had to give them all of the information over the phone. For most of the evening we were helping older couples find their rooms either in the building or the lodge next door. They weren't given codes, dorr information, or were not told there was not an elevator and couldn't get their bags up the stairs."

"Clean hotel rooms with good breakfast . Location is very convenient. Breakfast was good but management needs to add more staff in the kitchen to help during peak season like Columbus Day weekend . Rooms were not recently renovated but very well maintained , beds were good. I have a EV vehicle and all the superchargers nearby got super busy during Columbus Day long weekend . Hotel has a trickle charging outlet on the light pole in the backside parking lot , though it is very slow it helped me to plug in my EV mobile charger and saved my time. Staff were good too ! Only negative was one of the elevators were not working . Over all I recommend this hotel !"

"This is a lovely historic inn and the building is quirky to say the least! The stairs and floorboards are very creaky and our room had a tilt! The room was cosy and the bed comfortable although the bathroom was quite tiny. There was a coffee machine in the room but could have done with an extension lead to reach a plug! The coffee maker downstairs was good though. Breakfast was included and delicious."
