"We loved our stay at Riad Mazar! It is a truly special property. It is unbelievably beautiful and the owner, who is also an antiques dealer, has clearly put a lot of time and love into it. Upon our very late arrival, we were greeted warmly with tea and an explanation of the Riad. Our room was amazing - comfortable, clean, and lots of space. "I’ll start with the good. The location is great and the staff with the exception of the general manager is very kind and eager, going out of their way to be helpful! The general manager put us off from the start. He really wanted to control every aspect of our stay in the city and was very critical of us for booking restaurants and tours on our own . In fact, one tour company that we used said they had many problems with our Riad not sending the guests on the tours they had pre- booked with...

"This was by far the best hotel I’ve stayed at in Morocco. Not only is every detail of this Riad intricate and beautiful, but the generosity and hospitality of the staff was incredible. Salim, the front desk person went above and beyond. From communicating directions for finding the Riad to offering free tea and water daily, Salim, Abdul, and the other staff made sure I was well taken care of. The rooftop breakfast was also high quality and delicious. I cannot recommend this Riad enough!"

Wonderful and friendly people - Karim and the Riad Joy staff were so welcoming and helped us make the most of our trip. "The day before I left, I mentioned to an employee that I needed a taxi for my daughter and me to go to the airport the next day. He informed me that I'm asking too late and that I should have asked 2 days before leaving. An awkward exchange took place in which he tried to teach me that 'it doesn't work that way'.I would accept that at a 1 or 2 star property but not at a 5 star. Simply too many places to stay to accept that type of rude service."
