"We absolutely loved our stay at Sandy Paws! It was a fantastic place to relax, recharge our batteries, and enjoy some quality family time together. The house was comfortable and welcoming, and Oak Island was the perfect setting to slow down and get away from the everyday routine.We had a wonderful time and really enjoyed our stay. Sandy Paws was exactly the kind of peaceful getaway we were looking for, and we would definitely love to come back!"

"This house was phenomenal! The location is great and just a few houses down from a easy access beach ramp (there are only a handful of the ramps on the island) so this was a huge perk for rolling wagons and coolers! The host is an absolute delight, super communicative and very accommodating! Rooms were fantastic and had towels and linens for each. Each room has its own AC unit so everyone was comfortable the whole trip. The front porch was a great spot to sip coffee and hang out in the mornings or late evenings. The pool was a huge perk, super easy to set up the space for a day of splashing and fun. The hot tub was an awesome addition as well in the evenings or first thing in the morning. Lots of open space to hang out both inside and outside. Plenty of cookware and utensils in the kitchen. Large table to eat together at as well. Large sectional was nice to pile up on and watch movies on the rainy days. Location is super close to the Publix and most of the other places the island has to offer. Also a short distance from one of the piers as well. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the space. My family has been vacationing in Oak Island since I was a teen and this by far has been the best stay yet and was a great place to introduce my kiddo to Oak Island and continue the tradition. We will most definitely be returning in the future because this place has everything you could ask for in a vacation spot! Cannot rave about this spot enough! A true gem on Oak Island!"

"Great house for dogs. Fenced in backyard out of the basement made it easy to care for our furry friends. Durable floors and no fuzzy rugs! Strong recommend for people who are active and like games. Very well equipped though we refreshed the ping pong balls. Kayaks have seen better days and while they had lots of beach chairs, a bunch were not working, though we were there at the end of the season. Bikes were in great shape and there was a tire pump. Location is short walk to beach (5 blocks away). Birdwatching was an added bonus. Beautiful egrets nesting in trees. Would recommend driving to beach if you have a bunch of gear. Also central to shops and only 15 minutes drive to Southport.Lots of comfortable chairs on decks and porches. Beds are comfortable and well appointed rooms with hooks, mirrors, soap and shampoo/conditioner. Kitchen was stocked though a little light on glassware. One note is that there are many stairs and some are steep versus being European risers. Didn’t bother us at all but if we had brought older family that could have been an issue. Lots of hooks in the bathrooms. There is new house construction (5 of them!) happening across the way and they start at 7am. This will obviously resolve over time. Neighbor next door is nice and not bothered by dogs. The host did not answer questions we had before the trip though not a dealbreaker. Bring extra bath towels as there is only one person.Overall, we plan to come back."
