It's within walking distance of Durham Cathedral (although, if you have mobility issues, be aware that the walk to the cathedral is mostly uphill). Lots of nice little welcoming touches from the hosts too especially in the kitchen with bread, milk and lots of other things being provided which was a lovely surprise. "No hot water"

"No hot water when arrived had to adjust the water pressure.we managed to get hot water but intermittently. No instructions to operate the boiler there for no heating also the gas fire doesn't work. Toilet seat broken and also the coat rack was broken, went to use the vacuum cleaner and this was also broken.The courtyard was in need for some attention as the back door was obstructed by shrubbery "
