"Good place"

"We didn't want to leave. Stayed for two nights and wished we had booked for longer. Amazing hospitality and amenities, we had a room with a private bath on the balcony. Kaiseki dinners were fabulous albeit slightly confusing with our minimal Japanese language skills, but the staff went out of their way to explain and help us have a great meal. Breakfasts were also good, and the shuttle bus to and from the train station was much appreciated."

"Awesome Onsen. Quick check in. The two open air mineral baths were clean, comfortable and relaxing. The one with the huge lava rocks, natural greenery and small waterfall on the 5th floor was my favorite. On the 11th floor the afternoon and evening it was gently raining and sitting in the Onsen with rain coming down made me feel one with the rain and hot water. "This is an older Hotel that feels like its prime time was in the 1970's and has never left that era and that was perfectly fine by us! This was a great experience we were greeted as we drove up to the property by name as they were waiting for us! The attendant grabbed our bags and lead us to the desk where we checked in and did so in perfect English. We were given our kimonos to wear during our visit which we did. "The bathroom had a pretty funky smell that never went away, and it seemed that their answer was to put a tiny bag of potpourri next to the toilet, but it could have used a more thorough cleaning. Otherwise, a very nice and helpful staff, great free shuttle for local hikes, and decent breakfast and dinner. Quiet and lovely spot by the river where many people were enjoying the water."
