"Pros: Nähe zu den dortigen Tieren, insbesondere der Haushund, der sich mit unserem Hund sehr gut verstanden hat. Man kann tolle Ausflüge und viele Wanderungen in der Umgebung machen. (z.B. Belchen, Feldberg). Wir wurden vom Gastgeber entsprechend beraten. Zudem gibt es eine gute Gastronomie in der Nähe."

Hotel was wonderful and the price was so reasonable. It was in the middle of a quaint fortress old town just a couple of blocks from the Rhine River. It was super close to the train station. It made us feel like we were living 10 centuries ago but yet the hotel was totally updated and very comfortable. Would love to go back.

Hotel Spalentor offers a wonderful, well run place to stay in a perfect location for access to the old town or to get to the train station. Old school kind of place wheree they give you a physical key for your room but everything is clean as a whistle.

A nice hotel 15 minutes from central Basel via bus #36. There is a bus stop 2 minutes away from the hotel. Very friendly staff. Breakfast was worth the money. Note to Basel tourists, this is not a hotel located in Basel but Germany so if you want to get a mobility ticket for free public transport you have to book a hotel located in Basel.The room is very spacious. Tea making facilities in room. The restaurant is in the front and the hotel building is behind. The reception is in the restaurant....

This was a stressful trip for our family. The team at the Engel Hotel made it less stressful. They helped make phone calls where needed, let us store our luggage for a few hours, provided free water bottles, and were warm and friendly all throughout the stay. As a customer, you will also get a free public transportation pass for the duration of your stay. It was very helpful. We had a nice room on the 18th floor with beautiful views. The room was a great size with a large bathroom. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet had generous selections. Would definitely stay there again.

This was an amazing place, beautiful hotel, beautiful rooms, comfortable beds, clean and tidy. The view from the balcony of the restaurant was amazing. The only thing was that the breakfast was nothing fancy. Other than that, 10/10.

Location was right where we needed to be and the tran stop was right outside - a 10 minute ride into downtown! Super friendly staff got us our room right away. Great bathroomand shower! Will definitely stay there again when we visit friends!
