Raglan is a grand 15th-century castle that eventually fell to Parliamentary forces during the English Civil War (1646). The castle was surrendered mostly in-tact, but was slighted (purposefully disabled) to prevent any future use as a fortification.

Today it's an atmospheric ruin that makes for a fun visit.

"Great stay in a lovely house. Large, spacious, comfortable and very well equipped. Feels like a cared-for home. Plenty of different living spaces (inside and outside). Large and very well equipped kitchen. Comfortable beds. Glorious views from the house and colourful garden (in summer). Lots of walks from the back door or a short drive away. Good local shop and pub. Very responsive host. Nice welcome pack. Would love to go back."

"We had an amazing time, perfect place for a hen of 20 ladies and such a great location. The hot tubs and games room made it. Communication with host was amazing. However could do with a few more tea towels or oven gloves and couldn't find the mop head. Overall would definitely recommend staying here. "
