Dunes Inn

"Almost everything I can say about this place is positive. Very clean, walkable to everything downtown, not much road noise even though it’s on Main Street (US 160), free select breakfast entrees at the great little adjacent cafe from 7-10 am every morning except Mondays. Nice flat screen TV with all the basic cable options, including sports. Bathroom fixtures were all modern (although our toilet was a little wiggly at the base). Microwave and fridge in the room; no coffee, but there appears to be coffee available in the lobby in the morning. The lady at the front desk who checked us in was very nice and helpful (she seems to be the manager), and even came to our room to fix the TV when we couldn’t get it to work. The room keys are old school with a large plastic tag attached. Really my only criticism is the bed. The bed bounced and squeaked every time one of us turned over, and the sheets were a scratchy synthetic blend, not cotton. All in all, I’d stay here again if I return to Alamosa, especially if I want to be convenient to downtown."

"Unique setting with the drive-in movie screens facing towards the front of the rooms. The drive-in wasn’t in operation when we were there. Beautiful, expensive view from the dining area."

"I would have given the 5 stars..if not for the broken elevator (broken for awhile,apparently).. . The staff was kind in breaking the news. Tough when it’s not their fault.I was booked for the top floor & there were no other rooms avail.3 flights and 3 trips up and down. My back was previously messed up…so this was an inconvenience. To be honest I almost fell twice falling backwards. The pool and other amenities were excellent. Again the staff is excellent, the room clean and excellent, and amenities were great."
