"Compared to the immediately previous stay in Bordeaux for a similar price, Eklo was a dream. Great decor, lively atmosphere, many amenities (food and beverages, air conditioning, free games in the lobby for the kids), good location. Felt/seemed clean, beds were comfy. The only thing I didn't care for was that they didn't have room to keep our bags for a couple hours after check out. Of course they're not required to provide that so really can't count it against them (even though it really did make our day difficult). It was a pleasure to come back there at the end of the day. I'd be happy to stay again."

"Overall, this hotel is a good value, clean and organized. Two issues. The first has to do with security. The doors do not seem to block correctly so one occasion I left and my door was a jar the whole time I was gone. The second time mysteriously, a strange woman came walking into my room while I was shaving. I thought I had closed and locked the door, but maybe the lock was broken? Additionally, they have this cost saving measure where they control the temperature of the rooms from the front desk. This is problematic because the temperature was consistently too hot during a heat wave in Europe. So hot that it was 25° in my room one night and I had to ask the staff to cool it off for a second time. I appreciate that they are trying to save money on air-conditioning but if you have the system, use it and clients should not have to ask twice for their room to be cooled, especially when they have to get up in the middle of the night, get dressed and walk to the front desk to get it done. This hotel has a lot of potential, but management really needs to strengthen the security and improve their management of this outdated climate control system."

Hôtel Oceania Le Métropole Montpellier

10/10 Excellent

"I had such a lovely stay at the Oceania Le Métropole in Montpellier. The reception staff were very welcoming when I arrived and whenever I had questions. It’s only a few minutes away from Saint-Roch station but my room was very quiet and comfortable. The aircon was good but I assume it was controlled by reception as I couldn’t get it to remain switched off when I wanted to."
