"Excellent hotel in an outstanding location. We only stayed for one night, but everything exceeded our expectations. The staff was genuinely friendly and welcoming, the bar served excellent cocktails at reasonable prices, and the location couldn’t be better—right by the beach in a very safe area with a visible police presence. It was the perfect base for exploring Rio. I would happily stay here again and highly recommend it."

"First off, this is a favela, and it’s amazing. The views are unreal, the space is comfortable, and it’s easy to just stay here all day and not want to leave. That said, it *is* still a favela, so come prepared. If you have multiple bags, use Google Translate to arrange a motorbike or van to get up the hill. Ubers can take a while and often stop running around midnight. My stay was incredible. I didn’t realize breakfast was included every morning, and the family here is so welcoming and kind, above&beyond. On my first day they were having a barbecue and invited me to try traditional foods like maionese and churrasco. Later we went to a bloco party together and they made sure I felt safe the entire time. There are community rules, and the hosts clearly explained where to go and what areas to avoid. I genuinely felt safe and cared for. There’s a strong sense of community here. There are different room types with or without AC. I chose a non AC room. It was a little hot during the day but not unbearable. Pro tip: the rooftop is cooler and doubles as a lounging and viewing deck. I also didn’t know how to turn on the hot water at first, so ask for a quick walkthrough. If you prefer very modern, sturdy bathroom fixtures, this may not be the best fit. This is not something you can experience through a tour. To understand the warmth and daily life of a favela, you have to live in it. If you’re open minded and prepared, this stay is truly special. <3 Thank you for all the hospitality "
