"Sort of like camping out in style at an old lodge. The place has character and is really nice. I wish they had junior suites with king size beds, but either they don't have those or they aren't available. Still the room was very comfortable with a nice porch that overlooked the river. The shower was nice and hot with good water pressure, and I loved seeing the sign that the water is heated 100% solar. What a great example of solar energy usage! The sink was high for me and I practically had to stand on my tip toes, but it wasn't too much of an inconvenience. The breakfast buffet was quite good. The pool is incredible. It was not heated but it was still a great temperature to enjoy. the hot tub is also very nice. We enjoyed the free coffee tasting with Harvey, the evening frog walk with Peter, and tried to enjoy the horseback ride with Peter but the horse, as nice as she was, did not want to be ridden that day and dislodged my husband. I think it was because it was so incredibly muddy that the horse was afraid to walk on the trail because she may have felt unsteady as her hooves kept slipping about. Some sawdust or some other way to maintain the trail so it's not so muddy would help."

"I loved staying here and am so glad I found this little gem. It’s considered off season so there was no crowding and the staff were amazing and super welcoming. The place is located close to Downtown La Fortuna and I was able to get picked up and dropped off from all my excursions. Loved having the rainstorms in the afternoon evening and even took a nap on the hammock that was on my back porch with the forest view listening to the rain and the nature sounds. I brought a mosquito net zip around that came in handy for that. I had the most amazing in house massage from Jennifer. She came to my cabin and brought warm towels and aroma with her. She focused well on all my soreness from the three days of activities. I definitely recommend anyone to come here. They have wonderful breakfast and food for lunch and dinner."
