"I recently stayed in a 1-bedroom apartment at Quest St Kilda for two weeks. On the positive side, the location is fantastic, and the room was clean.
However, my stay was frustrating due to a lack of basic maintenance and dismissive customer service. I specifically booked my room type so that I would have in-room laundry facilities. Unfortunately, the dryer was broken. I reported this to the front desk on three or four separate occasions, but despite reassurances each time, nothing was done to fix the machine or offer a resolution during my entire stay.
The plumbing was also incredibly inconsistent (I did not bring this up to the staff). The shower temperature constantly cycled between boiling and freezing, making showering a very unpleasant daily experience. Turning on another tap in the apartment guaranteed a temperature spike or drop, but the shower would also just cycle on its own regardless.
Finally, a warning to anyone traveling for work who requires a tax receipt: if you book through Expedia they state that the hotel will provide the tax invoice at the end of your stay, but Quest claims Expedia has to issue it. To avoid getting caught in the middle, I brought this up early in my second week to get it resolved before leaving. I was told they needed to check with management. I followed up a few days later and was assured everything would be fine. Yet, at checkout, I was told they still needed to sort it out with management. Overall, good location but frustrating hotel"
