"Pleasant property and host Jean-Christophe. After road trip we were looking forward to cup of tea, but no tea & coffee facilities in room. Hadn't planned to travel for dinner but appreciated the restaurant reservation in Perigeux at Hercule Poireau (cave) restaurant, great atmosphere, personable staff and beautifully presented, delicious cuisine. ."

"Hotels.com booked me into a hotel that was closed for the winter! I arrived in the evening after a long journey to find everything closed but for the help of the caretaker I would have been stranded and seriously at risk. I had to find another hotel in Les Eyzies and pay 70 euros for a taxi to get there. "

"Great location, lovely pool! The rooms are spacious. It would. We didn't know until we left that there were some breakfast products available in the building next to the pool. Also, there wasn't any info on the gym. A bit more comprehensive info in English (probably other languages too) would really help. Also, check in time of 5pm is really late, and check out of 10 is too early. I appreciate they need to clean a whole apartment, but its difficult to work with those times."

2024 family holiday

"Fabulous house to stay in with everything you could need for a large family holiday. Only a few places have a large heated pool, 6 person hot tub, sauna, gym and cinema room? Paul was great and very friendly, attentive if needed and hospitable. We've stayed in many french properties over the last 20 or so years and this tops them all. Great place for total peace and quiet with local shops a short drive away and loads to do and see in the area. Would happily go there again even though we don't usually say that."

"We were expecting difficulty in finding this property, deep in the Dordogne, but Google maps came up trumps. The time taken to reach it after the main roads ran out was, however, a small problem. The property was lovely, spacious and in a beautiful garden space with wide views of the countyside. Our hosts were very kind and helpful. Fully outfitted kitchen, some kit was missing - no kettle - but I imagine the very hard water makes that problematic. We used a lovely barbeque, provided by our host most days. A very good supermarket 20 minutes away in the car, and basic facilities in the village."

Beautiful

"We just stayed in Sylvette and Alain's villa in the heart of St Alvere for 2 weeks Spotlessly clean fabulous old stone house with traditional beams and exposed stone walls. Fabulous heated pool with far reaching views over the french countryside. Large terrace with lots of areas for eating with an electric awning. Main bedroom has a fabulous shower room en suite all air conditioned Chez Julien is about 9km away and is a must for the beautiful setting and food. Saint Alvere has a couple of restaurants and bars and is about 3km away and is very picturesque and quaint. We were welcomed by Sylvette and Alain with a bottle of wine and some delicious rillette and prune chutney. They then left us to it but answered any questions we had really quickly. Beautiful place which we would highly recommend"
