"This is a staff that knows what hospitality means, with a strong social mission that goes beyond recycling and (excellent, with cheese and egg) vegetarian breakfast. The hotel is located a short walk from the main train station in what seems to be a busy and safe area. Multiple tram and bus lines are adjacent. Rooms are clean and modern, but not luxurious (e.g., no TV). Even the "small" room the staff apologized for giving me would be more than adequate by Rome or Paris standards. "

"This hotel was in a great location, had terrific service, and the room was nice for two of us. It was near the train and near the water and Old Town. The staff were very helpful and nice. There was a bar and restaurant that looked good Altho we didn't eat there. We hiked zermatt and mt Rigi which were easy to get to by train and boat. (Zermatt is far!). We loved this hotel and would stay here again! "

"The hotel is in an excellent location in Old Town Zurich. It is less than 10 minutes' walk away from the main train station. The area is safe and yet convenient, with easy access to lots of main attractions. The hotel is essentially a boutique hotel in a renovated ancient building so it is full of character and yet it has modern conveniences and comfort! The room is very nicely renovated in a rustic yet modern decor, and I like that it has a safe. However, there is no bar fridge inside (though not an issue for me). The breakfast was quite nice - I loved the fact that it had smoked salmon!!! The food variety was decent (though not outstanding, except for the smoked salmon!) and it was served in the Swiss Chuchi Restaurant, which was part of the hotel. It was again full of character and quite charming. The hotel offers half-price entry to the Kunsthaus Zurich, which is an absolutely delightful art museum with a very good collection - it is one of the must-see things in Zurich! The only issue that I had during my stay was that there was a small plumbing issue in my bathroom - given how old the building was, this probably was not surprising - the hotel staff did try to make it work for me and I appreciated it. Overall, I had a very lovely stay! I highly recommend this hotel and would stay there again for sure. "
