Discover JB by the Sea, our charming Nags Head Cottage nestled in the heart of OBX. Recently renovated and tastefully decorated, this beach haven promises a perfect getaway equipped with a pool, hot tub, and tiki bar. It is only .2 miles to get to the beach and ideally located near popular restaurants, coffee shops, ice cream, and an abundance of activities. Our cottage is situated on a cul-de-sac with no through traffic and in a very walkable / bikeable area with ample sidewalks & side streets.

The House
-4 bedrooms (2 King, 1 Queen, and 1 bunk room with 2 sets of twin bunks).
-All 4 bedrooms are large enough to fit a pack and play, with 2 of the bedrooms having separate closets large enough to fit a pack and play in them.
-3 full bathrooms with a shower and tub.
-Spacious game room with pull out couch and kitchenette.
-Newly renovated kitchen with open concept layout to the dining area and living room.
-Inviting outdoor area with a POOL, HOT TUB, tiki bar, outdoor shower, and outdoor bathroom.

-Pool is OPEN May - September
-Hot Tub is OPEN March - October
Both are professionally maintained twice a week.

You will love our neighborhood! A quiet cul-de-sac with no through traffic but situated in the heart of Nags Head close to the beach and popular restaurants, coffee shops, ice cream and an abundance of activities.

Providing ample amenities and a welcoming atmosphere is key to the perfect vacation rental property, and we have put a lot of effort into achieving just that.

Pet Friendly!!
We welcome up to 2 well-behaved pets per stay (unless otherwise agreed). Must be house broken, on flea and tick medication and travel with a crate, if needed. A one-time pet fee of $150 applies for the first pet, and a $50 applies for the second pet ($200 for 2 pets). To ensure all our guests enjoy a clean and comfortable experience, our property undergoes extensive professional cleaning after every pet stay, so you’d never know a furry friend was here!

Beach Access + Activities
.2 miles to the E Bladen St. beach access, which is a quick and easy walk along a quiet street / sidewalk (NO walking along the main highways!). This access also offers paved beach parking, porta-potty, outdoor shower, sand access, wooden walkways, and pet waste bags.

.4 miles to Dowdy Park, a must-visit spot in OBX with expansive green space, large playground area, pickleball and basketball courts, picnic shelters, and Farmers Markets and other activities throughout the summer.

1 mile to Jockey’s Ridge State Park (The Dunes), which is the tallest living sand dunes on the East Coast, offering breathtaking views (especially at sunset) and hiking.

.5 miles to Bonnett Street Beach Access, which has 68 available parking spots, stabilizing beach mat for wheelchairs, wooden walkway, lifeguard and bathhouse.

Absolutely Perfect

We had a wonderful stay! Host was great from booking through check out ensuring everything was smooth. House was the cleanest house we have stayed at. Property was in a great location for our family for beach, restaurants (ice cream), and park for kids. Would surely look to book again on our next Nags Head trip.

Beach vibes at Grand Dowdy

My kids and I had a wonderful, relaxing stay at this property. We enjoy this area of Nags Head for its proximity to the beach and convenient parking. This house provided a bedroom for each of my kids and a master for me. The neighborhood was peaceful and the house was well appointed.

Perfect place to stay!

This is a wonderful place to stay. My family of 10 had a great time staying here. It is clean, updated and comfortable. It is a short distance from the beach, so it’s a good value. There are a lot of nice touches like bicycles and beach equipment. The owners are sweet and accommodating. Highly recommended!

Perfect property for our family!

House was exactly as expected and listed. It was wonderfully located in the OBX and close to the beach with easy access to the water. The house was clean and had enough parking for all our vehicles. Hot tub and pool were clean and in perfect working condition. We accidentally locked ourselves out and the owner was quick to provide assistance to get us back into the house.

A Perfect OBX Escape in Nags Head

Our recent stay in Nags Head was fantastic! We booked our trip last minute and the owner was incredibly responsive throughout our stay. The interior of the property was very clean and tastefully decorated. Additionally, the house was well appointed with all the necessary amenities and housewares, making our stay comfortable and convenient. The location of the property was great too! It is situated a short walk to the ocean, close to restaurants and various attractions, which made it easy to explore OBX. Overall, we had an excellent experience and would highly recommend this property. We can’t wait to return!

Great Getaway

Simply Perfect!

Our family of 10 had an amazing time staying at the Grand Dowdy. The location is simply perfect with an easy walk to the beach, as well as close proximity for jet skiing, ice cream outings, the dunes, and shopping. Natalie is an exceptional host who is very kind and personable. The house is well equipped for homemade family meals with enough seating for everyone. We highly recommend staying here if you are looking for a safe neighborhood near the beach in a very clean, spacious house!

Excellent place to explore the OBX!

Absolutely loved our time staying at this spot in Nag's Head! Highly recommend for any good sized group looking for a home base in the area. The walk to the public beach access was easy and the pool was perfect to end up in after a hot day.

The house was everything we expected and more for our Anniversary stay. The amenities were everything that was explained on the site. I would recommend this property to all my friends and family. Great Family Home

We enjoyed our week relaxing at this beautiful home. Walking distance to the beach and park. The kids loved being in a cul de sac for bike riding. House was super clean, organized and a great set up for two families. Natalie was very responsive.
