"Not clean at all. Bed was awfully hard to sleep on. Room has mysterious stains and marks everywhere , with even stained towels"

"Great room with superb sea view. Staff were friendly and helpful. Limited breakfast facilities and choice. Awkward access and egress routes, especially for disabled or elderly , but no offer or assistance with porterage. Great central location. "

However we were shocked to find that the swimming pool and golf had additional costs and when going down for food Sunday evening the only thing available was Sunday lunch. The room was beautiful, clean and well supplied with coffee tea etc. We used to stay at the Penventon regularly 20 years ago and the standard has not slipped one bit. The reason for our visit was to meet with a lost member of family and she lived local to the Penventon Hotel so it worked out perfectly for us."

"Check in and reception brilliant, very helpful. Superior room booked and was huge and well fitted out. There is a pool, jacuzzi, sauna facilities with free towels . Parking was easy. The restaurant & bar was well managed by Will who couldn’t do enough for you. The main town is a 20 mon walk if your fit but there are some serious up/downhill routes which would require a taxi or vehicle for those with any issues."
