"We loved the ambience of this place. Driving in at night was whimsical with mushroom lights guiding the way. The room was artsy and fun. Breakfast was picture-worthy and the hosts were friendly and knowledgeable. This felt like a great starting point for our Costa Rica trip with a more authentic feel."

"The accommodations were both clean and spacious. However, the exceptional service provided by the reception and administrative staff truly stood out. I have a medical condition that necessitates traveling with refrigerated medication, and I inadvertently overlooked the absence of a shared kitchen facility. "We were only in Monteverde for one night, and this was a great B&B! Spacious and comfortable. Jenny made and served us a fantastic breakfast to start our day, too! Will definitely consider staying there again if and when we visit in the future."

"Really large rooms with jacuzzi inside. Complimentary entrance and shuttle to Kitoku hot springs was a great bonus. Breakfast was fine - I’ve had greater variety and quality at other stays on this trip but it was good with standard Costa Rican and US options. Two things I felt could have been better a) in the hotel information and at breakfast there were lots of warnings of charges should patrons break the rules which I understand but felt a little unwelcoming, b) I was asked which restaurant I would like to eat at when I arrived and picked the informal option, and on arriving there was told I couldn’t eat from their menu as all their dishes were for a minimum of two people which was very unwelcoming for solo travellers. Whilst the staff tried to solve the issue and said I could order from their à la carte restaurant and have it brought down I needed to see the menu so changed restaurant. I don’t blame the staff for this, I’ve just never been to a restaurant where it’s entire premise is you have to be in a group 2+ and found the experience alienating."
"Cloud Forest Lodge was a wonderful place to stay. The absolute standout was the restaurant—the food was exceptional, and the servers provided some of the best service we experienced during our trip. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and made every meal enjoyable. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the nearby hiking trails were beautiful, and the peaceful, quiet setting made it the perfect place to relax and enjoy the cloud forest. We would happily stay here again."
"A peaceful place to disconnect with everything but the nature. If you want to enjoy a quiet and green piece on earth that will be your hotel. Excellent location to enjoy different attractions in the area. Lovely place!"
"This was an amazingly beautiful hotel. We had the 2 bedroom villa which was newly remodeled with a full kitchen and gorgeous finishes. We saw a ton of wildlife right thru the huge windows in the living room and bedrooms. I will 1000%
Stay here again when we come back. The check in was super quick and friendly and we came during afternoon coffee and it was delicious too! Can’t recommend this place enough!"
"We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Lost Iguana Resort. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful, especially Charlie who was our bellman. The breakfast buffet was incredible, a standout for sure. Staff in the restaurant were great, too. Our kids liked the pools, though the lower pool was very cold, too cold for me to enjoy. The hot upper pool was nice and hot! Our room was clean and the high ceilings made it feel bigger than it was. Our patio was very private and peaceful. We saw glimpses of the volcano from our patio, but only once saw it in full during our 5 night stay in July. The umbrellas provided by the hotel were clutch, definitely needed! They are numbered according to your room number. Unfortunately someone else took ours from the restaurant one night, but the staff brought them back to our room without us even requesting. I would’ve liked to use the gym in the morning, but it didn’t open until 10am - too late, we were already on to our adventures then. Our family really enjoyed the Puma Trek as well. It was a great length and we never saw anyone else on the trail!
The location was a little farther from the main area, and my daughter got carsick on the windy roads. We generally prefer more secluded places, but next time we might opt for something closer to more restaurants."
