"We loved it! The modern upgrades were very pleasing, the room decor and the comfort of the bed were fantastic. The spacious lounge area on the second floor was very cool and it had access to the balcony looking over the main street. Lots of antique artifacts to enjoy throughout the building. The location could not have been better, right on Broad Street, chock full of great shops and restaurants. We opted not to eat in the restaurant, even though the decor was historical and really cool, the menu frankly did not look very exciting. We opted for a different restaurant around the corner, and then we came back and had a cocktail in the super cool bar. Do not miss the bar."

"I've never stayed at a Bed and Breakfast before and this was actually booked by mistake. What a peasant surprise. I will not stay anywhere else while in Nevada City or it's surrounding areas. Poria (SP?) and Flume's End is my go to destination. "

"We had a great time at the Lost Mine Retreat. The house is exactly as described and pictured on VRBO. The location is a bit isolated being 15 minutes from Nevada City and a few minutes from Scott's Flat Reservoir, but it's very quiet and private at the house. The bedrooms were all clean and comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked. The hot tub worked great and the paddle boards and kayaks were a bonus. It was also nice walking down around the nearby neighborhood pond although the mosquitos were brutal in May. The bears are definitely active in this area, so be careful with your trash!"

"Everything was as advertised. The cabin was clean and ready when we arrived. We never turned on the TV, but we did use our travel Bluetooth speaker. We chose the downstairs bedroom, even though it has the smaller bed, because the view out the windows is superior. Our dog loved the yard and chilling on the porch. The RV was not there during our stay, so all was quiet and private. It was just right for us!"
