"The staff was very helpful, the cleaning staff was great, the reason I knocked off two stars is because of the elevator wait time and the laundry facilities. There were only two machines and there is no way to do laundry properly because of the backlog. Advice is to use the 24/7 service two blocks away from the property."

"The location is just absurdly good. I didn’t appreciate fully how nice it is to be in the heart of Gion until we got there. It’s a stone’s throw from a Lawson’s, walking along the river, the coffee cafe M Stand (this is absolutely the best kept secret - you want incredible views and top tier flat whites? Go to M Stand and thank me later)… close to transit… Aircon in the room worked great and was somehow silent… and the four beds worked out well for our family. Front desk was so helpful - recommend if you do the Kurama/Kibune hike that you get their help booking a Kawadoko lunch/dinner."

"We had a wonderful stay at the Mitsui Garden Hotel Sanjo Premier. Honestly, I think this one of the best hotel stays I’ve ever had. The hotel is located a few minutes from the Karasuma Oike metro stop, which makes it very easy to get to Kyoto Station. It’s also centrally located to a lot of the sites in Kyoto like Nijo Castle, the national garden, Ginkakuji and the Philosophers Path. It’s also a few minutes from Nishiki Market and right across the street from the Kyoto Museum. There were plenty of restaurants and coffee shops to choose from for breakfast and dinner right in the neighborhood. The property was fresh, modern and impeccably clean. We had the happy hour here one night, and found the food and drink options to be fresh and interesting. I didn’t try the breakfast or dinner here. Our room was spotless and comfortable. The shower was amazing. Absolutely no faults in the property or upkeep. The staff added a luster to the property. Always cheerful and supremely helpful, they arranged for our baggage shipment to our next destination and worked with me on my rudimentary Japanese. All of the staff I encountered had a very advanced level of English conversational ability. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. We simply loved this property"

"We had a fantastic stay at this hotel and would definitely come back. The room amenities were excellent — the ReFa shower head and toiletries were such a luxury and felt very high quality. The location was also perfect, being very close to the train station and surrounded by multiple convenience stores, which made everything so convenient. The extra touches really made the stay special, especially the free foot spa, complimentary coffee machine, and the free water and sake station. The staff were incredibly kind and went out of their way to help us whenever we needed assistance. Having a washing machine in the room was another huge bonus and made travelling so much easier. It was so quiet too! Highly recommend this hotel for the comfort, location, and amazing service!"

The Royal Park Hotel Iconic Kyoto

"My wife and I stayed at The Royal Park Hotel Iconic Kyoto for our first visit to Kyoto, and overall we had a wonderful stay. The location was excellent — very walkable to many attractions, shops, and restaurants around Sanjo and Shijo. It made exploring Kyoto very convenient, especially for first-time visitors like us. One of the highlights was the access to the Iconic Lounge. We really enjoyed the complimentary breakfast, afternoon tea, and the relaxing lounge atmosphere. We do not drink alcohol, so the cocktail time was just okay for us personally, but we still appreciated the overall experience and service. We also enjoyed the small public bath at the hotel. It was a nice way to relax after walking around Kyoto all day. The room itself was adequate, clean, and comfortable for our stay. The only downside was that our room, #301, was located right outside the laundromat. Many guests were hanging around outside our room and talking late at night, which made it difficult to fully relax. I would suggest the hotel place a polite sign outside the laundry room reminding guests not to loiter or speak loudly near guest rooms, especially at night. Other than that, we truly enjoyed our stay and would and would recommend this hotel for its great location, lounge benefits, public bath, and overall comfort."

"We had amazing experience in Hilton Kyoto. It has to do with excellence all around - great location, outstanding customer service everywhere, beautiful room, good breakfast, excellent Italian restaurant on the first floor of the hotel. They have big swimming pool. I enjoyed it every day."
