"We were a little surprised that we were not staying in the actual castle to start with but the room we were allocated was brilliant and had all the odd/old characteristics that the castle would have had. The staff were very attentive - could not be faulted. Would certainly recommend."

Yet, once installed after a swift checkin with a very friendly member of staff, the view on the Northumberland countryside from the bedroom is nice and soothing, and the noise of traffic is absent.
There are two options for a dinner, a café and a restaurant. The restaurant is the best for value.

"We had a pleasant stay. The grounds was beautiful. The room was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a short visit. We stayed in the west wing section with a view to the garden. The rooms are not large in size with a double bed.
It's a simple, no-frills place with basic amenities, but it delivered exactly what we expected. The breakfast was good, with a nice selection to start the day, with a buffet style continental breakfast and a cooked meal also available on demand. The...
"Great place, very clean staff very helpfull. Dog friendly and as we where missing our dog on this trip, it was very nice to see all the dogs. Would return and recommend no issues."
