"We love this hotel and usually choose to stay here when we visit Newcastle. The rooms are always clean, spacious and have everything needed. This hotel is right in the centre of Newcastle and perfect if travelling by train. The breakfast has always been 10/10 with plenty of choice and is always fresh. We’ve never had any previous problems when staying with staff bending over backwards to ensure a lovely stay, however, last time we visited, we were told the rooms were ready but asked to pay £20 to be in 50 minutes before check in time, which we declined. The most recent time we had to pay £100 holding deposit and we weren’t allowed to check in until we produced ID. These have not been requested previously. We obviously weren’t prepared for this and it made check in quite lengthy so I’d advise to be prepared for this. "

"Staff are super friendly and welcoming! Hotel room itself is run down which is unfortunate. Headboard off the bed scratched very badly, bathroom bathtub was rusted as was the toilet. Also very odd no toilet brush to clean the toilet after you use it.. The bed was in terrible condition with extreme squeaking and not sturdy whatsoever. Pillows themselves were over used and filled with stains, thank god for the actual bedding being clean. Location is nice by the water, parking is fairly priced but way too small for the capacity of the hotel. "

"The hotel was really close to the theatre we were at which was great and close to the shops. The room was clean and tidy but the air conditioning did not work and was blowing out hot air instead! The breakfast was continental only and a little disappointing. "

"Great location by the River Tyne, perfect for a stroll. Near lovely restaurants and bars."

"Good stay overall. Great location for the city centre and close to everything. Nice room and helpful staff. Good breakfast too. My only issue was with the noise coming from the fuse box inside the room when trying to sleep. It was humming loudly constantly and was quite disruptive at times. I realised too late that to stop the humming I had to take the room card out of the power slot by the door. "
